Flies on Cassava Leaves
Hi everyone.
How are you today, I hope you are all well and healthy. Today I will share a picture of a fly that I found on a sweet potato leaf. The fly that landed on the sweet potato leaf looked very calm and was not disturbed by my presence. I don't know what the fly was doing on the sweet potato leaf, whether it was looking for food or a place to lay eggs. Flies are attracted to sweet and moist smells, so moist and nutrient-rich sweet potato leaves might be an ideal place for them.

So the sweet potato leaves are still wet from last night's rain. Flies might be attracted to the moisture of the still wet sweet potato leaves.

Flies have the ability to detect moisture and strong odors, so they might come to the still wet sweet potato leaves to look for food or a place to rest for a while there.

Flies really like a humid and warm environment, so wet sweet potato leaves might be a very comfortable place for them.
