Dugouts in Slizovo

Sometimes I sit for hours at a map, studying different settlements for the presence of dugouts. Slizovo has been marked for me for a long time. In general, if you open map app on my smartphone, it will be all covered with yellow markers-dots where there are dugouts.

And I know where I've been, and where I still have to go.

I also point out those controversial places where there are doubts, where it is not entirely clear what is shown on the satellite map. Sometimes I visit such places during the day on the way or specifically for exploration.

Slizovo is located almost at Sheksna, not far from the A114 highway.

There are only five cellars on the map, but in fact there are three more that are hidden behind trees.

But this is good, there have been reverse situations, which is worse.

When there are more than ten dugouts on the map and everything is in a row, and you arrive...and there are three dilapidated ones....

Or at all...there is nothing and there is a fresh cottage...or a sawmill.

In Slizovo, the dugouts are on top of a hill, near a slope. There is a stream below, where there is a chapel and an equipped spring.

Almost all the cellars are still in use today, half of them are open for ventilation.

The Sheksninsky district is interesting because the locals are using vegetable storages in the villages now.

Sokolsky and Kharovsky districts can also boast of this.

It is also noteworthy that there is no relief on the satellite map, and this is always a surprise on the spot in person.

I did not expect that there would be such height differences in Slizovo.

And height differences are always just a plus!
