Grasshopper-Uyo-Nigeria

This very week seems abit wet here in my locality, rain keeps falling and it's hard for me to capture insects. That doesn't stop me from participating, In most cases I capture more than 5 insects in a day just to create wallpapers and other vital concepts.

The grasshopper is commonly seen in any environment especially the tropical area. Most of them do not react easily that's by escaping when the sense danger. To say, since I started macro photography grasshoppers are simple to capture with much focus than any other flying insects, most of the species don't jump or fly unnecessarily.

I took these very shots on my way to marina, the marina is bamboo grown environment with much trees and green plants. The grasshopper being herbivores will mostly stay in such environment. The general scientific name for grasshopper is called caelifera

Habitat

Grasshoppers are mostly found in tropical and temperature area feeding much on green plants. You can basically see them on green plants because it's mainly where the feed on.

Behaviour
Grasshopper feed mainly on green plants by cutting and chewing. The observe preys through their antenna and react by jumping from point to point to escape. Grasshopper also makers tiny sounds called chirping.

Process
Capturing grasshoppers seems so easy maybe because their antennas do not easily detect approaches. I used my RedmiNote13 smartphone to capture those slides making a zoom from X2 to 3.5
