I thank God that one of my nurses took heed about my long-standing concern about my dialysis treatment

I talked to one of senior nurses at the dialysis clinic today and told her about my concern which is my burning thirst issue that gives me a real hard time about enduring my dialysis sessions. It actually creates complications and I experience body aches leading to premature termination of my treatment plus because I am too thirsty it makes drink like a Camel. The afterwards I will gain extra water weight and this adds up when there will be lots of premature treatment times.
Anyway, she said that they do up the Sodium because of my requests about large fluid withdrawal from my sessions, and that I experience hypotension or IDH many times over, I guess their only solution is to jack-up the Sodium to make my blood pressure rise but it is not doing anything but makes me feel deathly thirsty. But we agreed now that I will just request a lower fluid removal and a slower blood pump from 300 mL per min to only 250 mL per minute which I think is the factor about my IDH events and not necessarily the amount of fluid withdrawal per session.
The senior nurse took heed thankfully and she adjusted down the Sodium into a lower setting prior for my treatment session today and because of that my dialysis session doesn't feel like I am lost in a desert and dying of burning thirst. Now I feel much better and not anymore feeling so thirty even after my dialysis session thanks be to God.
Now I can better manage my fluid consumption because I will feel so much thirst anymore. But I have to keep in mind not to consume much fluids because my allowance of consumption had been effectively reduced. It is a heavy and hard challenge once again but I have to cope and cope because I have no choice but to comply with this new situation.
I might use the Sauna suit more often because it does help me get rid of extra water from my body and extra salt that comes with it and because of that my thirst will be come more manageable as well as my dry weight. However, using the sauna suit is really hard because I have to spend some hours wearing it so that I can get rid of substantial water and other extra things from my body through perspiration. Then it is also not that hot everyday because the weather here in my place had been somewhat more fair. It just means that it can be hot in the morning but in the afternoon grey clouds would block the sun and this reducing heat which what I need for an optimal Sauna session using my Sauna suit.
I had come to this unique solution because of the same problem whereas before I am much heavier and it affected on how I speak because I would lose breath because of the extra water in my body. After some months or a year or so after that I was able to inch my weight to around my current weight today and it improved my well-being. But the high sodium setting at my dialysis sessions had put me into much trouble in consuming large fluids because of the aforementioned deathly thirst and the other senior nurse really do not want to listen to my pressing concern about the aforementioned issue until I got to talk again to the other senior nurse which again thanks be to God listened and made the necessary changes that I want and it made my dialysis experience much better now.

Hi I found you through the #wewrite. You got a lot to deal with. A sauna suit to lose extra fluids is it used by more people. I understand the lower or is it slover pump but not much of what you write. It good though the nurse listened to you. I hope it will work in a longer term
May I ask how much you are allowed to drink? Does the fluid in food counts?

Hi @xiao-aine, I am much happy now that the changes that I want for my dialysis treatment is done today and for the next succeeding sessions.
It gave me a better well-being while being dialyzed and afterwards because I no longer get to be to thirsty anymore.
But I have to make a compromise of further limiting my fluid intake to not exceed about 2.1 kilos of fluids between session days. It is difficult considering that I am trying to eat more so that I can gain more real body mass.
I also had to change the speed of the blood pump to 250 mL per minute from what I usually request which is 300 mL per minute, all because I want more of my blood to be cleaned and the speed of the pump is related to it although I find it weird that the same nurse told me that one other patient has a better clearance factor with only 200 mL per minute blood pump speed.
Yes, fluid in food counts and so because of that I am making it sure not to eat the soup if a dish is soupy because otherwise it will be harder for me to control my fluid intake.
That is why I always prefer to be in a hot room so that at least it can help me get rid of fluids from my body. Then using the sauna suit can make my perspiration more intense. It feels much better after using it although I have to use it for a longer time than normal so that I can get rid of as much fluids and salt from my body.
