How To Create a Voting Poll with Leaderboard to Share in Steemit to Collect Data

Assalamualaikum my fellows I hope you will be fine by the grace of Allah.

Today I will show something very important that is very useful nowadays and we have need it often. I will show you how you can make a live voting leaderboard, share with your friends, in your steemit posts, we can also use a custom logo for that poll which will appear at the top.

We know Steemit does not support voting polls directly but sometimes we have to use these voting polls to collect data and reviews from the users. There are many services but most of them are not available to use for free. But today I will show you how we can create free poll with the voting leaderboard where the data updates in real time.

To create the poll we will use a third party website which is special for this. This is the link of the website: https://www.polleverywhere.com/

To create a voting leaderboard poll we need an account here on poll everywhere website. On the home page there is a Get Started button we have to click it to register.

After clicking on Get Started a new page appears as you can see. We have to choose first option for the sign up as it is free to use.

This is the registration page. You can register your account manually giving your name and email. You can also choose other options which are direct methods. I have used Google Account method. It will get name, email from our account and if we agree on this then we can create account otherwise we cannot create account.

There are different options in the left side. A home button shows the homescreen, polls shows the number of polls created. The reports shows the reports about the polls.

These are different options to create a voting leaderboard. I will use bar poll at initial stage and later on we can customize the design of the poll as well.

I clicked on Bar. It opened this window. I added the question at the top as heading and then I put text into the options. By default there were 3 options and I added 2 options later using add choice. At the end there are 3 more options:

• Hide Responses: It is used to hide the responses from the poll. They become invisible.

• Lock: It is used to lock the responses for the poll. If it is locked the users can access the poll but they cannot vote.

• Correctness: It only shoes the voted answers with correctness.

The inactive button shows the poll is not presented and it is inactive. Click on this to activate so users can access it and vote the polls.

We can share the poll using the QR code and the link at the top left corner.

We can customize the visualization of the poll. We can set custom background colour, top logo, the fonts colour and the on selected colour of the poll. We can also set response limits per users. We can also set timer when the timer ends the question will be locked automatically and the user will not be able to vote. We can embed the poll in the websites.
