My journey my motivation, no external spark
We live in a world where we often look to other people for motivation or some are just been given a motivator, who motivate them in all areas of life but my story is different.
I have been the one learning to motivate myself that is to say I fuel my passion and drive my own success.
It is true that as a child growing up, I got advice from my parents on the right path to work and on how to live a godly life.
Yes, it really work and help but at some point I felt I needed something more than that.
Along side with godly devotion, I needed someone who will show me the way to go in terms of what course of study to choose and how to go about it.
I grow up changing courses from art to science and from science to art.
Hahaha, that sounds crazy 🤣.
In my university education I found myself in that same situation, changing from one course of study to another.
All these happen because I was not inspired by anyone.
Sometimes I would look at a particular individual, admired him or her and want to delve into the person's profession and once I meet challenges, I will change because there was no solid reason for doing what I was doing. I just wanted to be like that successful person without counting the cost.
Even without a particular person motivating me or being my role model, in my course of becoming a successful person, I have come to understand that true motivation comes from within.
That is to say one needs to drive his enthusiasm stem from his or her own desires, goals and values rather than external spark as in my own case.
I have known of some friends who mentioned that no one inspired them and I was consoled knowing that I am not alone in this.
I have met many people like you in my life. They never had anyone to inspire them. That doesn't make them any less than anyone else. I have even known children of colleagues of mine who have gone from one career to another in college, because they did not feel the passion for what they were doing.
There is room for everyone in the world. We are the people who look for ways to group ourselves in our minds with those who are similar to us. There is no need to do that. We are what we are and we are unique and unrepeatable.

Not being inspired by someone doesn't make anyone less of a human or unimportant. I shared my experience here to show how I was able to inspired myself and I am still waxing strong and becoming a woman that I love.

What can I say... I better say nothing. It wasn't out of boredom or not knowing what I liked to be (well in a way I didn't know it at the age of 10 or something and I refused to be forced into the professions of my parents)... here I come. I have at least 14 studies/professions if not more and I can tell you this... in the end we always return to where we started. LOL

We are people who are always looking to group together, people who think or feel as we do ourselves. Sometimes it doesn't work out that way, we don't find someone who inspires us, but when we do, we want to share more with that person. That is called inspiration.
Somos personas que buscamos siempre de agruparnos, personas que piensen o sientan como lo hacemos nosotros mismos. A veces no resulta así, no encontramos quien nos inspire, pero cuando lo encontramos queremos compartir más con esa persona. Eso se llama inspiración.
Estoy de acuerdo contigo en que siempre habrá alguien quien nos inspire para realizar algo.

Hola, es muy interesante tu planteamiento, pues, por lo general, buscamos un referente que nos impulse a hacer una determinada tarea o a estudiar cuando somos niños o adolescentes.
En lo particular, creo que todos los padres asumen el compromiso de motivarnos a ser cada día mejores; pero tú has agregado un elemento clave, que yo asocio a independencia: "Tus ideas y tus sentimientos son tus motores de vida".
Eso yo lo siento ahora, que ya pasé el umbral de los 50, pero cuando era niña y también en la adolescencia buscaba tener a alguien a quien imitar, jeje. Es decir, soy auténtica ahora, jeje.

I feel the same way and share your thoughts. When I was a child, thank God I found my inspiration in this nurse. She was my inspiration to study. Today I am an adult, she only inspired me because of her human part that related to mine. I am a person with my own ideas even if others dislike it.
Siento lo mismo y comparto tus ideas. Cuando fui niña, gracias a Dios que encontré mi inspiración en esta persona enfermera. Fue mi inspiración para estudiar. Hoy día soy adulta, ella solo me inspiró por su parte humana que se relacionaba con la mía. Soy una persona con ideas propias aunque a los demás les disguste.
