About my experience with the TRUE COLORS 5 team/Sobre mi experiencia con el equipo TRUE COLOURS 5

When the team informed me what I had to do, I naively thought the job would be easy because I comment a lot, and a comment is read faster than a post. So checking that it was free of plagiarism and the use of AI wasn't that complicated.
But what happened?
The job wasn't easy at all, because while there are a thousand users on the platform, and there are obviously more, only 20 percent make good comments; meaning those with the aforementioned psycholinguistic characteristics.
Now, it's not like no one comments here. The thing is that the comments are like: This is my entry, thanks for reading, thanks for the review, thanks for the mention, thanks for the award...
So where was I going to get the good comments from?
From the platform, obviously, but from reading a lot.
What did this mean to me?
That I worked all 31 days of May, not just on my assigned shift, but every day and at all hours. I pre-selected comments, and when I thought I could vote on them, another team had already voted for them, hahaha.
It drove me crazy, especially because I didn't want my team to stay up late on their shifts, since we were physically far apart, but emotionally very close.
Through this experience, I was able to "get out of my box." That is, visit communities other than the ones I usually visit, so I got to know other users, read them, and comment. Through this curatorial experience, I experienced firsthand what Steemite users around the world endure.
I managed to make new friends like @tangmo, @tyrnannoght, @xiao-aine, @linus911, @lighcaptured, @galca, among others, with whom I formed a special connection.
For all the above, I wish to openly express my gratitude to this team, including the cat @wakeupkitty and the mouse @aneukpineung78, who were so patient with this art-loving kitty who, on many occasions, spilled ink on a perfect painting they had created with both hands.
Thank you, thank you so much, friends, for so many lessons.
I must confess that in the curatorial work I'd done before, everything was easier: reading a post, checking for plagiarism, that it wasn't the product of artificial intelligence, that the images were sourced, and the issue of clubs. However, finding good comments on the platform is VERY DIFFICULT, because very few people stop to read and comment. Therefore, to reverse this reality, the True Colors team implemented, by consensus: Choosing good comments and selecting them to receive steemcurator votes 1 and 2.
In this regard, I wonder:
What if several curatorial teams embraced this policy of supporting commentators to see if, once and for all, we become a social network where we don't just spout words, but instead are heard and echoed by listeners or readers? Do you think this is a good idea or a crazy idea?
And with this question, I close my post to see how many people stop to reflect on it.
Thanks so much for mentioning me in your post. I'm really glad to have a good friend like you. ;)
Fue genial encontrarte. Nos seguiremos leyendo.
Many thanks again for your kindness.... ;)
Hahahhaa,,, Reads like "There's no way I am gonna work with you guys anymore." 😅 "I kinda hoped it would be another walk in the park, turned out to be another cardio session at the gym." (Yes, I am not really talented in making parables) 😅😅😅
Posts and comments hunting is one thing, and then there's also the diversity of them and countries, genders. And then there's the discussion about the weekly nomination. I can say that this was like an adventure, even though one might find it was a bit tiring, but I also found it was fun.
Yes. That happens.
Thank you for these nice words.
It was great working with both of you.
Jajaja.
It was a heavy month also because we tried to divide the votes among countries and communities always ignored plus we kept an eye on gender and the smart!/talent part we set for a goal. Since our upvotes are higher (up to 100) there are fewer posts but at the same time we are more "pickie".
If a team sets no goal or ignores what they promised it's just click, vote, leave and ready within 1 hour.
Many we voted for in September 2024 left but others returned and curating is easier if if you are everywhere, remember names, check if people are okay and comment yourself.
Your advantage is for sure you are a commenter and we share the same interests. If you wouldn't like art for example it is an impossible task.
We noticed since we started in September there were teams not voting for comments at all or they did a few in the last week and in most cases these are the same people.
Searching for good comments + commenters/people who really engage is very time consuming if you are no commenter yourself.
Have a look at the curators their comment section, you will be shocked.
The same counts for the number of comments shown by steemworld.org and the tools used. 95% if not more is no comment but the "thanks", "great", "next time I will" and are moderator reports with or without AI added text.
I am 100 percent sure that if I count the real comments the list with top commenters will look completely dufferent. It was the same with #miner-wewrite and it is if I look at Art & Artists.
It:'s time to let the brain and hand rest and enjoy the fun part of Steemit and good weather. 😁
Thanks for giving a hand. It might be good if more ACs would reward comments but it is hard so an idea might be one member only focuses on comments, an expert not a fake commenter.
🍀♥️
Ciertamente.
I really congratulate you for your intention to value good comments. The lack of value given to comments is impressive. Many users, including the curators, only respond once to comments. If you leave a reply with a new question, the reply is never returned. That gives a lot to think about.
Many comments I read are long at first glance and when you read the content, it's thank you and invitation.
I was getting lost in those meaningless comments too. But then I went back to what I like , replying and asking again and getting hooked with more and more.
So I thank you for your persistence in valuing comments and commenters. @solperez, @wakeupkitty and @aneukpineung78.
@wakeupkitty all her life on steemit has been spent making many comments, she always has long answers and questions. She is admirable.
And, @solperez feels that working with the True Colours Team is so tiring, she needs a ‘break’. Hahaha. We did try to take this seriously. However, May has been an unforgettable month, from several aspects, including a small incident influenced by the current political situation, right @wakeupkitty?
Thanks, @gertu.
I think May made the team realize a lot of truths, but in black and white, hehe. You know, @aneukpineung78 I missed you. Hugs.
Yep, using Kitty's words, "May reveal the true colours of some."
I don't think you miss me. I think you miss the pies (the pie charts), the bar diagrams and the tabular data. Now you know how we had taken the curatorial works all these times we did this, and there has always been some new ideas in each time we did. In in May, two of them are: the website, and the dynamic vote % calculation.
It was a good month. Thank you.
You don't know how much I love orange. :) I don't have the idea why and since when ( I guess someone brainwashed me to love this colour - and fruit, but basically the colour-).
Put those words and combined with some other words, the Bing AI Image generator gave me this..
perfecto!
I have noticed your absence, I hope you are well, best wishes.
Yes. Lots of things happen in my life the last few days, and in the few days to come. Thank you. I wish you the best as well.
Certainly, there are short comments that are brilliant and compelling. In that sense, it's not about length. On the other hand, there are long comments that contribute nothing, since they merely quote what the author has said.
Therefore, the reader must have clear criteria to distinguish between a good comment and one that isn't.
Thank you for reading and for your valuable comment.
It is very true that we do not all think the same way, nor do we all write the same way. I wish you much success on your way to give your own criteria.
That's right, my friend. That's why thought has been assumed to be the fundamental element that differentiates us from other living beings. Hugs, my friend.
I don't always have long comments or replies, but I do believe I have always had questions LOL @lupega told me that a few weeks ago.
Let me keep it short for a change since I have to do a few things before I go tot bed (it's after midnight).
Thanks for all the good comments and replies you kept writing dear @gertu. I believe as long as we do what we like most, it will be a success. No matter what other do or say. There are plenty of people who love to receive a comment otherwise they wouldn't start replying to a bot (in a way it's sad we humans do that because there's no one else).
Friend please, check the witnesses you voted for. Many of them are no longer active and they keep being high ranked and therefore visible. It would be good if everyone would check the witnesses they vote for.
For me you will always be a person of great tenacity. As long as I have known you, you are a great fighter and you have reached the top thanks to your great commitment here. Many times I saw that we got tired of the struggles but then you persisted while I collapsed. You have had more faith in yourself than I had in myself.
You are so versatile, I don't know how you keep so many things going at once. The accounts, the moderations, the comments, the contests. You are always looking for more knowledge penetrating more and more into the depths of this community.
I wish you as always to keep getting up and helping as you do so many people on this platform. Thank you for your support. Success @wakeupkitty.
Comparto tus palabras.
No, here in Venezuela our fishermen have small boats that they use for various things. Generally for fishing and for transportation. They put an engine on the stern of the boat. From the stern to the outside; from there they manipulate it and drive the boat. When the weight they carry is very heavy, they can fit up to two outboard motors.
Then the boat becomes faster and more efficient than those with only one engine.
Thank you for your kind words. Am I ever tired? Of course I do but then I am also glad to have my own commuity without too much fuss where I just write for myself. I don't think I can hold out if I have to enter all kinds of competitions and write what is expected as I have in recent years. I never participated super much although I did try in 2024. But I soon gave up. I don't think people really wanted to hear what I was thinking or feeling let alone what I went through.
I think we are all just a bunch of go-getters, that's what you have with people for whom not everything goes over roses.
If I feel I'm being exploited again like before, I'll just stop. After all, this is my free time and I invest in this platform.
How do I keep everything apart? At the moment, I just keep a kind of schedule. One day this and the other that and I'm also no longer precise to the minute as far as competitions are concerned. It doesn't matter if you are once a day late or a few days late. I don't think anyone is watching the clock to see if the new match is already online.
By the way, I also have it written all over the place that the match is running as long as nothing new has been posted. Just like years ago.
Have a very happy Friday!
