Sunday Reflections: From Hen Encounters to Life's Deeper Chapters

in CCC4 days ago

Hello my wonderful Steem CCC family!

Today was Sunday, and after a truly great service in church, something rather unexpected happened on my way back home that sent me down a deep memory lane. I came across a hen walking proudly with her little chicks, and it instantly brought back so many vivid memories from when I was around seven years old, or even younger. I was always told never to mess with mother hens – they're fiercely protective! This time, I walked right by one who was sitting on her eggs. I got a bit too close, and she actually almost attacked my head! I was scared, but honestly, not that much, because I remembered a much more intense incident from when I was a kid, involving a chase by a turkey. Those turkeys genuinely love to bully kids, I guess when they puff out all their wings, it means they're trying to be the boss! 😂 I can still vividly remember how I ran that day, and those crazy people around me were actually telling a small kid like me to "be a man." Wahhh, a turkey is trying to kill me and you're telling me to be a man?! 😂

This memory also led me to think of my brother. He once told me he had a similar terrifying experience with a turkey when he was a kid, which unfortunately led to his first fracture in his arm. His next fracture was from a tricycle accident, and that affected his leg. I hate remembering those hospital incidents, but I'm incredibly glad he's fine now. For two years, he couldn't run around too much, but all that is thankfully behind him. As of this year, he's medically free to perform sports if he wants to, which is a huge blessing!

Thinking about that period brought back how those times really took a toll on us as a family. It was a challenging season, especially with my aunt passing away from cancer issues, followed by my grandpa the very next year – all within a seven-month range 😩. The ending of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 was honestly the worst disaster that happened to us. We've not been able to recover much financially either, as we're still grappling with debts from those times. I truly hope God brings ease and relief to my parents' shoulders. 🙏🙏

Despite all the storms, every day truly is a blessing, and I'm always grateful for life itself. Thank you for letting me share these personal reflections with you all, my CCC family.

I never met a turkey in person but they don't look kind to me, but scary and ugly.

Indeed a strange remark to tell a kid "be a man".
None of them helped you?

It was a great read!
🍀♥️

It was one of the guys in the barber shop then that helped me chase it away. I'm happy it didn't pounce on me before he came out😂

Thanks for the fun read! Sorry for your turkey experience but it gave you something to write about!
