A train in memory
We have a train
in our memory.
Red.
All smoke.
Mirages.
We used to stick to the glass.
Use the window,
escape to the lines.
We have a memory.
to hold on to.
Paint.
Watercolors, stations,
cities,
pink pelicans.
Translucent island.
Destroyed cities and houses.
Faces.
Incomplete notebooks.
Friends wandering.
Reappearing,
making space on the shores.
Let's use rye,
bluebells,
snails.
Everything works.
Let's take that train,
a small memory,
make it real.
Have a wonderful day, you deserve it. It's just one day, one at a time. I'll be there. A little poem, for you.
The photo belongs to Kitty.
It's like you said.. nostalgic, a memory and there's no need to care about what others think, the environment, it's just a train driving through the brain like all those model trains from the childhood the neighbour filled a huge room with.
Is it time to eat yet? Pelican or chicken or fish or just cheese with candles to make a wish (I couldn't think of one, how about you, the children?).
A small memory today grows into a big one, the one we remember till the end of days.
Thank you for being around and the beautiful poem.

I also have a personal train that I purchased for my son. It's a toy train off course.
