Steemit Learning Challenge S24/W2 : Chocolate cake

Thanks to the organizer @m-fdo of the Steemit Learning Challenge S24/W2 for giving us the opportunity to pass baking courses so I participated in the 2nd season today. Making chocolate cake in the second week is an opportunity to acquire skills, so chocolate cake making,my tried to make a delicious chocolate cake using all the skills.

Chocolate Cake is loved by many especially chocolate cakes are on the list of favorite for kids, children and those who love to eat chocolate.Special ingredients Cocoa powder for making cakes Of course it is possible to make a very delicious attractive chocolate cake choice using chocolate powder or cocoa powder, and everyone in the cake lover will definitely love to eat this cake.

So to complete the basic knowledge of making this cake I will complete the process of making the cake step by step chocolate butter cake by adopting the ideas of making the cake in the challenge.

✅1 . Make the given recipe in detail with step by step pictures. Include your name tag with the date at the final presentation of the recipe.

The recipe is Chocolate butter cake

All the ingredients required to make chocolate butter cake are:

Flour85 gm
Sugar100 grams
Butter100 grams
Eggs2
Vanilla1/2 tsp
Baking powder1/2 tsp
Cocoa powder15g
Milk3 tbsp

Step 1


In the first step, put every ingredient in cake making, especially eggs and butter, first in room temperature.
When going to each of the dry ingredient measurements of cake making, I will measure it separately and in a bowl of dry ingredients flour, baking powder, Cocoa powder should be sifted with a sieve so that there are no lumps while making the cake.Then mix well and put it on aside.

Step 2



Now at this stage I will first take the butter in a bowl and bit it 1 minute with a beater machine and then beat it step by step with powder sugar, blended powder sugar, which will melt quickly with the butter and when all the sugar is melted with the butter I will beat the sugar and butter mixture at high speed beater machine to become a foam texture. Now at this stage I will break two eggs and take a light minute bit again. Then beat a minute with vanilla essence.

Step 3


And now at this stage I will gently mix the dry ingredients with a sieve with the cake batter mixture in three steps with a spatula, at this stage I will add the dry ingredients little by little and mix gently with spachula in three steps.And every time I'll mix milk.And the cake batter is ready to bake.

Step 4



Now brush the oil with a piece of paper in the cake pan and pour the cake cake batter and tap the cake pan well with the cake batter so that the air babuls go inside. Then bake 40 minutes at 175 °C in pre-ready pre-prepared oven.

After the first 30 minutes have passed I'll check with a toothpick after the cake is baking, at which point the cake hasn't baked completely yet. So after another 10 minutes of baking, when I checked the cake with a toothpick, there was no raw leftover cake mixture.

At 40 minutes the well inside the cake was baked and a very tasty chocolate butter cake was made. Then I'll take the cake out of the oven and put it in room temperature and cover it with a lid so that the cake moisture inside is fine and cut it when it cools down and serve it.

And made a very tasty soft and fluffy chocolate butter cake.

The chocolate cake I made today that used all the ingredients to make the chocolate cake. I'm showing the price list of each ingredient here in table form.

The cake I made cost me 114 taka and steem 17.07 to make my cake .If I buy chocolate cake from outside, it costs 250 taka and steem 37.5 which is twice the price of homemade cake.


✅3 . Is this your first time making a chocolate cake? Or have you made a chocolate cake before?

During the Corona period, I learned to make some cake by watching various videos on YouTube channel sitting at home.Since then I used to make a cake but it is very difficult to bring the perfect texture of cake making.I do some baking work sometimes but I'm not a professional cake baker .I love eating homemade cakes. So I sometimes make these chocolate cake and vanilla butter cakes. so chocolate cakes are a favorite cake of my kids so I didn't have any problem while making this cake today with great pleasure I made a chocolate cake following your recipe.

I've made chocolate cake with cooking oil before.But following your recipe, I made the first chocolate butter cake today. I didn't have much trouble making the cake, I made the cake today with great pleasure.

today I made one of mine which I addressed to the guests of my two young children and this one today with great joy Made the cake t.Not only Today I didn't just make this challenge but also to give my guest a chocolate cake lover, there were two kids eating cakes in celebration and I made one of these chocolate butter cake today.

And the cake was very tasty and soft and fluffy, adding a very nice flavor of chocolate and aroma to eat.


✅4 . Explain the importance of the cocoa powder/cholate powder used in the cake. Also, why do you use les cocoa powder than flour?

If you need to add chocolate flavor to the cake in case of cake baking, you must use cocoa powder along with making cake with flour while making the cake.Cocoa powder is used to bring chocolate flavor to any baking item or dessert.

  • And cocoa powder is less processed, the natural ingredient cocoa powder provides a taste of chocolate without fat as well as cocoa powder provides high levels of nutrients. Cocoa powder essential to bring chocolate cake proper chocolate flavor.
  • Cocoa powder is rich in butter and blends well with cake batter, resulting in a smooth texture to the cake. A chocolatey sweet taste, flavour and the chocolate taste is prominent in the cake.A tempting and a rich cake made with cocoa powder that anyone sees will want to eat chocolate cake
  • Moreover, it also adds brown chocolate color to look at.Cocoa powder is dry and absorbent, besides it provides more water absorption than equal weight dough that retains cake moisture.

Cocoa powder is generally available in two types of natural and dutch processed cocoa powder on the market.

Natural cocoa powder-

is made by grinding from roasted cocoa beans, its test is a bit bitter.Cake flavors made with this cocoa powder come great. Baking soda is used in such chocolate cakes. Cakes made with natural cocoa powder use more baking soda, resulting in carbon dioxide, which acidifies it, reacts it while making the cake and helps the cake to swell.

Dutch processed cocoa powder-

Most used in cake-making in the world.The color of these cocoa powders and the color of such cocoa powders are also different.It is made by processing, usually washed in this process in cocoa powder Potassium carbonate alkaline solution. This causes the acidity of cocoa powder to become neutral, which does not react with baking soda during cake making.This is why many times baking powder is used instead of baking soda to make chocolate cakes.

Mix cocoa powder to make chocolate cake If the amount of cocoa powder becomes more than flour, Cocoa powder thickens the dough better.In this case, the cake will become dry, more hard after baking the cake.We add milk to dilute the dough batter mixed with cocoa powder. And many times the cake can be broken after making it and cake will require bitter to eat because cocoa contains some amount of caffeine, the taste is bitter and strong-tasting.

Cocoa flavor strong chocolate aroma, not just bitter its taste is quite intense, cocoa powder is quite thick.If cocoa powder is added more while making a cake, it will smell more of cocoa powder than flour while making a chocolate cake and the cake will also taste bitter.

If we don't have 100 grams of flour for making any chocolate cake, the amount of flour can be taken to 20 grams or the amount of cocoa powder can be divided into 8 parts with flour.To get the full taste of a chocolate cake, give less in quantity. Low amounts of cocoa powder must be used with flour for baked cake to turn into soft, fluffy, smooth and rich textures.
