Is this your first time making a chocolate cake? Or have you made a chocolate cake before?

Yes of course, it is my first time making chocolate cake, although I knew that cocoa is used to make chocolate cake, I never try it out before. Thanks to this challenge because now I've make a chocolate cake and I just like the fact that cake making has some special ingredients and flavour to make it unique in different taste and colours.

Children loves chocolate cake so much answer this recipe given will go a long way as it will help me to continue to make cake for my kids and subsequently for commercial use as well.

Explain the importance of the cocoa powder/chocolate powder used in the cake. Also, why do you use less cocoa powder than flour?

Cocoa generally has a pleasant taste and has a lot of health benefits but let me share the imptonve into 4 parts and explain.

Flavour; cocoa has a very nice sweet smelling flavour that appetize someone. It has a pleasant chocolate flavour and it added good texture to the cake.

Colours it is dark brown and it appealing to the eyes, It looks exactly like chocolate. Cocoa seeds are brown therefore, while processing the powder, it has the same colour and taste.

A Combinaton of the cocoa and baking soda helps in making the cake to rise without the addition of yeast.

Taste I think after testing the chocolate cake I will be going for chocolate cake anytime I want to do cake rather than vanilla or milk flavour cake. It's taste so nice and it was very smooth and fluffy.

Healthy benefits: it has antioxidant which helps in improving heart health, I know cocoa as being a powerful medicine to boast mood.

It helps to improve sleep, helps in weight loss, improves hormonal imbalance

Cocoa has a lot of health benefits.

why do you use less cocoa powder than flour?

Naturally, cocoa has a bitter taste therefore, add large quantity more than flour, will make your cake very bitter. Do you do this reason a small amount of cocoa powder is used than flour.

Cocoa is starchy and so it absorb liquid which means that too much of cocoa in a cake, will make it so dry therefore a correct proportion is advised.

Thank you so much for going through my post, I appreciate

I will like to invite @udylicoiuz @adylinah and @dequeen to take part in this challenge.

Your post is amazing. Your explanation of the method and ingredients used to make the chocolate cake was very clear and detailed. I really appreciate that you made a chocolate cake for the first time and shared that experience. Your explanation really explains how important the use of cocoa powder is for the taste, colour, and health benefits of the cake. Also, you explained very well why the amount of cocoa powder should be kept low, which balances the texture and taste of the cake.

Your cake turned out very well; it looks very delicious and fluffy. I am sure your kids loved it.
