Every country, district, or place has certain holy places. These places are famous for their beauty and history. Today I will discuss one such place.

The name of the holy place is Doleshwar Hanafia Jame Masjid. It is located in Doleshwar Union of South Keraniganj. This mosque in the Middle Eastern architectural style was built in 1868 by Dargo Amin Uddin Ahmed, which still stands next to the current mosque with a tradition about 157 years. Moizuddin Ahmed, son of Dargo Amin Uddin, was the first Motayalla of the mosque. He and some other great people of the area endowed several places around the mosque in the name of the mosque.

This mosque is as beautiful from the front as it is from the back. The mosque is built of red bricks, which is similar to the ancient architectural style of historic Bengali mosques. The main feature of the mosque is its domed design. The dome is tall and round. Small minarets have been placed around the dome.This mosque is still intact. However, now that a new mosqu Complex is being built next to it, it is now used as a maktab and library.

In addition, there is a collection of green grass and small trees around the mosque. There are date palm trees here.

Then in 2018, local MP Mr. Nasirul Hamid Bipu renovated the family graveyard and built the new mosque complex with personal funds, leaving the previous mosque intact.The entrance to the mosque has an arched door, the upper part of which is finely carved. Carved designs can also be seen on the front wall and around the entrance. The interior of the mosque is high and spacious.The mosque has become an exceptional structure due to the renovation while maintaining the ancient architectural style and design.

There are no made of bricks walls in the mosque. It is surrounded by all-glass doors. These doors are opened during prayers to allow light and air to circulate. So that there is adequate light and air circulation.

Water Reservoir outside of the mosque

There is a reservoir next to it, where the reflection of the mosque is reflected. There is a water fountain system here. Arrangements have been made to keep water from accumulating around the mosque.

Relaxation Space beside the mosque

There is a beautiful open space in front of the mosque for sitting, relaxation and children to play. This place is completely based on red brick.

Ablution Room

This is the ablution room. There is a facility here for many people to perform ablution at the same time.

The internal view of the new mosque is very beautiful. The pillars of the mosque look like trees. The interior design of the mosque is done in red. There have fans,lights and sound system.

Awarded by UNESCO

Asia-Pacific Region - UNESCO annually recognizes the best works of various countries from Fiji to Kazakhstan. That is why this award has been named 'Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation'. UNESCO said that nine establishments from six countries were recognized in 2021. Among them, Doleshwar Hanafia Jame Mosque in Keraniganj has been recognized in the 'Award of Merit' category.

Speciality of the mosque

Many people from all over the country come from different places to visit this traditional mosque. There are too many places inside and outside of the mosque. So that many people can easily attend to prayer.
