If you are hunting for Mie Aceh in the Lhong Raya area, Banda Aceh, be prepared to be a bit confused. The thing is, within a radius of one kilometer, there are three places that use the same brand: Mie Caleue.

This time I stopped by Mie Caleue Asli. This shop is located on Jalan Sultan Malikul Saleh, Lhong Raya, Banda Aceh. Precisely in front of the Harapan Bangsa Stadium complex. The shop is clean, neat, and comfortable for a casual meal. This is my first time trying to eat here.

Previously, we often stopped by Mie Caleue which is located near the bridge. Precisely, close to Basarnas Aceh. Just like what I felt, once you taste it, you will definitely be addicted. Surely after eating it once, you will come back again.

Recently, several shops with the same brand have appeared on this street. There are at least three places. Two of them use the name Mie Caleue Asli. The owner is Bang Bas. This is the original Mie Caleue. Meanwhile, the one close to Basarnas Aceh is managed by the owner of the land that Bang Bas used to rent.

Bang Bas's Story

Bang Bas is the pioneer and owner of the Mie Caleue brand. His first shop was built on a plot of land across from the Basarnas Aceh office. That's where he built his business, cooking noodles with his own special concoction, and building a reputation that was no joke.

However, fate had other plans. One day, the landowner refused to extend the lease. Not wanting his business to stagnate, Bang Bas then looked for a new place that was only about 150 meters from the old location towards Lampeuneurut, Aceh Besar. His business continued as usual.

The problem arose after Bang Bas moved. His old location was not left empty. The landowner instead opened his own noodle business under the name Mie Caleue. The brand developed by Bang Bas is now being used without permission from the original owner.

Not wanting to lose, Bang Bas took decisive steps. He added the word "Original" to the name of his business. It is not just an affirmation, but also a form of protest, that the Mie Caleue that you have known so far, is now present in its most authentic form through the "Original" version.

New Strategy

Not stopping there, Bang Bas expanded his steps. He opened a second branch right in front of Harapan Bangsa Stadium. The position is still on the same road, but closer to the city. This step is quite strategic. At this point, he can "net" noodle lovers who come from the city before arriving at Mie Caleue.

So, now along Jalan Sultan Malikul Saleh, there are three outlets with similar names:

• Mie Caleue Asli, Bang Bas' new branch, is right in front of Harapan Bangsa Stadium.
• Mie Caleue (without frills), still occupies the old location next to Basarnas.
• Mie Caleue Asli, Bang Bas's initial location after moving, stands about 150 meters from the previous point, heading towards Aceh Besar.

Now Bang Bas still holds the Mie Caleue Asli brand. Well, I arrived in front of the stadium. It wasn't Bang Bas who cooked it directly. Instead, it was his younger sibling who served me. If you're curious about the taste, please try it. You'll definitely be addicted.
