Al Muttaqin Mosque Hagu Teungoh Lhokseumawe

On this occasion, I had the opportunity to visit Al Muttaqin Mosque located in Hagu Teungoh. The main purpose of my visit was to perform the Isha and Tarawih prayers in congregation. In addition, I also wanted to document this experience to review this mosque in particular.

_{The atmosphere from the outside of the mosque.}

Al-Muttaqin Mosque has been around for quite some time and is an important part of local life. Unfortunately, I could not find any exact information on the year of the mosque's establishment, due to the lack of literature or historical records available.

From the outside, Al-Muttaqin Mosque looks simple, resembling a house or office building. From a distance, the mosque's towering dome is not clearly visible, perhaps due to its location in a residential neighborhood. The ornaments that decorate the outside of the mosque are also not very striking. However, this simple impression is inversely proportional to the specialty inside.

The courtyard of the mosque is not too large, enough to accommodate dozens of motorized vehicles. Most of the worshipers are local residents who come by motorcycle. On the right side of the mosque, there is a clean and well-maintained ablution area, making it easy for worshipers to wash before entering the mosque.

Upon entering the mosque, I immediately felt the cool, clean, neat and comfortable atmosphere. The entire room is equipped with air conditioning and fans, creating an atmosphere conducive to worship. The clean and fragrant prayer rugs add to the comfort for worshipers.

The mihrab of the mosque is beautifully decorated, with beautiful calligraphic ornaments combined with charming flower carvings. On the right and left sides of the mihrab, the names of Allah and Muhammad SAW are written. On the front of the mihrab, there is a large painting in the shape of the Kaaba with a golden yellow coating, as if the imam is facing directly to the door of the Kaaba like the one in the Grand Mosque. The walls of the mosque are also covered with special ceramics, adding to the modern and clean impression.

The dome part matches the color of the mihrab part, it is quite beautiful even though there is no calligraphy.

The top of the dome is decorated with green and yellow colors, matching the decoration on the mihrab. Although there is no special calligraphy on the dome, its beauty still looks harmonious with the mosque's interior which is dominated by bright white.

The atmosphere inside the mosque feels more cramped when the congregation is overflowing, although female worshipers still get a comfortable place in the interior of the mosque, which is separated by a cloth barrier. Before the tarawih prayer began, the mosque management announced the remaining balance of the mosque's treasury of 2,300,000 IDR or approximately 978 Steem (based on the Steem price on Tuesday, March 25, 2025). This shows transparency in the management of donated funds.

In the corner of the mosque, there is a large charity box that says donations for the purchase of a new air conditioner. This shows that the mosque is currently in need of funds to purchase an air conditioner, although in my opinion, the existing air conditioner is quite complete and creates a cool atmosphere. Donations can be made by cash or online transfer.

Overall, Al-Muttaqin Mosque is a modern, clean and comfortable mosque. Although it looks simple from the outside, the inside of the mosque is quite special. This mosque has become one of my favorite places of worship that I often visit to carry out worship activities.
