Holy place #17 - "Chistia Mazar Mosque"

Today, I will review the Jurain Chistia Mazar Mosque through the Steem-atlas map. The Chistia Mazar Mosque is located in Jurain, the capital of our country, Dhaka. Another name for the mosque is the Jurain Mazar Sharif Jame Mosque. The mosque was built approximately before the British rule. There is a green area in front of the three-story mosque. CCTV cameras monitor the mosque.

Jurain is a populated area. I try to visit various historical mosques and structures of our country every day to participate in Steem-atlas. Today I came to the Chistia Mazar Mosque. Two gates lead to the mosque. One gate allows you to enter the mosque directly, and the other gate allows you to enter the shrine first. I entered through the shrine gate first.

The walls inside the mosque are beautifully designed in Arabic calligraphy. I read the writings on the walls for about half an hour. The Arabic writings have been translated into Bengali. The writing of various Hadiths and verses of the Quran in Arabic made my mind feel very good. Then I walked for some time and went to the shrine. Here is the grave of a great person of Allah. The grave of Hazrat Khwaja Shah Nazimuddin RA.

I take off my shoes and enter the shrine. There is a place for ablution inside the shrine. A beautiful space has been created adjacent to the shrine for prayer and recitation of the Quran. There are various designs around the shrine which look very beautiful. I enter the shrine and take a few pictures.

Then I headed towards the mosque. Next to the shrine is the Jurain Chistia Mazar Mosque. The mosque is air-conditioned inside. The mosque is three-storeyed. There are big mango trees and various types of trees around the mosque. Pedestrians take a rest under the shade of the trees in front of the mosque. The area of the mosque is very large.

There is a place for ablution inside the mosque. There is a place for drinking pure water for the Muslims next to the place for ablution. People from the area carry pure water from here in large containers. The area around the mosque is very clean. I perform ablution and walk around the mosque to take pictures. Several donation boxes are located in front of the mosque.

In front of the shrine

I enter the mosque. The imam leads the prayer on the ground floor of the mosque. There is a prayer schedule and a large clock next to the imam's prayer space. There are many fans installed inside the mosque. Since the mosque is air-conditioned, people can pray comfortably.

In front of the mosque, a shop sells hats, perfumes, and other items needed for prayers. I exit the mosque and go to the second gate. The history of the shrine is written on the gate leading out of the mosque. Since the capital, Dhaka, is densely populated, there is limited space in front of the mosques; however, there is a vast expanse of space in front of the Jurain Shahi Jame Mosque. There is a large graveyard next to the mosque.

There is a house adjacent to the mosque for the custodian and imam to reside. In addition to the imam and custodian, there is a caretaker responsible for maintaining the shrine. I spent about an hour wandering around the shrine and mosque and taking pictures. I have been living in the Jurain area for the past six years, but I was unaware that there is a beautiful mosque and shrine here.
