1906년 출간 후, 1910년에 폐간되었다.
현재의 경향신문은 고종 때 설립되었다가 폐간된 경향신문의 계승을 표방한 것이다.(1946년) 그래서 해당 본사는 자신의 역사가 1946년부터 시작이라고 하고 있다.
