NUMBERS DOWN IN VICTORIA| 20 deaths reported!

Twenty more people died from COVID-19 overnight in the state, which has seen a decline in daily case numbers.

The Victorian government is urging everyone who is eligible to come forward to receive booster vaccinations .

While the state has filled the equivalent of "two to three hospitals across the state" of COVID-19 patients with the virus, it lags behind in daily case modeling seen weeks ago.

Victorian hospitals;

There are 1096 people treated for the virus
121 of them in the intensive care unit
34 of them are on ventilators.
Yesterday, 21,966 new cases of COVID-19 were registered.
About half of these were detected by rapid antigen tests.
There are currently 252,399 active cases across the state .
While 10,023 new cases were recorded with PCR tests, 8144 new cases were detected with rapid antigen tests.
