Why and How did the United States dollar become the RESERVE CURRENCY of the World???

Why dollar , not other national currencies like the Yen, Pounds , Euro etc??

How futuristic can the Dollar sustain this status considering greater acceptability and use of the decentralized encrypted currencies ??
