Inversion of reality #1

What does our eye see?
Good question...
Does my eye see exactly the same as yours?
Good question...
but what about colorblind people?
And the peoples of the North distinguish 50 shades of white snow and are guided by the color of the weather.

I'm not sure if you see the same thing that I do.
But we agreed on something.
For example, red, we agreed to call red, but what is red?
This is just a reflection of a part of the complex spectrum of light by an object.
I say "red" according to our agreement.
You say red according to the contract.
But we can see different spectra at the same time, who will prove that this is not the case...

One day during the New Year holidays, I noticed an interior door.
More precisely, on her glass, and even more precisely, on the drawings of colors that were constantly changing.
I'm not sure if you see the same colors in the photos as I do.
That's why I won't name them (what if I'm colorblind or something worse :)

I thought, why can't it be art?
The camera has memorized this play of light.
And this is part of our reality.

If it wasn't for that frosted glass:
-in the case of a blind door, I would see nothing but the door,
-in the case without glass, I would see a Christmas tree with toys and a garland of flashing lights.

So glass has created a new reality?
I have to think about it.
If you're still reading my nonsense and you've read it all the way here, congratulations.
We're going crazy together... Or maybe we're getting closer to reality?

It was the introduction to a series of posts with unusual photos.
I started with the very simple ones.
And I want to say thank you if you're still reading :)
In the future, I'll try to use words less.
There will be something visual.

What is worse than colour blind? Blind? I see too much and find it hard to focus so it depends on the photo what I see and by seeing I mean see first.

The first thing I saw in the bottom photo was a noose! Then a honeycomb, this was definitely because I was scrolling from bottom to top. It's good that you say it's a door. Now I like it a lot better (LOL). It reminds me of my grandparents' old stained glass windows. I would love to have them in my house even though my windows aren't that big. I suspect that the pattern that is ground into the glass causes the changing colors just like soap bubbles do.

If you're colorblind from birth, then you have nothing to compare it with. It's just the way your world is. Slightly different colors. This is inconvenient when driving a car and in a number of other cases. But in general, you just have a reality that looks different than most people's.

The stained glass windows are very beautiful. I immediately remember temples)
And also colorful glasses used to be inserted into frames on verandas in wooden houses and dachas. There is a shallow glazing and you can create interesting color combinations.

The Christmas tree was too close to this glass, so each light of the garland had its own place for coloring the glass. If the tree had been a little further away, we would have just seen evenly colored glass without a pattern. It all happened by accident and that's the beauty of it)

Thanks for the comment:)

I took such a random photo when I walked past a trash can and looked inside. A stray cat looked up at me, so I took the photo and quickly left. I don't have the photo anymore, but I can still see it clearly in my memory. Who knows, I might draw it someday.
Another photo is when I tried to photograph a flower moving in the wind. I still think it's beautiful. Could this be the art?

I am not an art critic and I cannot give a precise definition of art. Even the professionals have a lot of differences on this issue)

You saw a cat, you saw a flower in the wind, and you formed an image, a meaning, an idea. If you can somehow express this image visually, I'll call it art. Visual art.

The best creator of beauty is nature itself, and we can learn from it, imitate it, and create something of our own based on the images and ideas that have arisen.

If you are going to draw that cat, then it will no longer be a drawing of a cat, but rather some kind of image associated with emotions, a cat and a trash can. Most likely you will add something else))
I would be interested to see your drawing :)

I liked this work. It makes me think about many things, but that is the visual power of a work. Of the diversity of things it produces in the viewer. That's great, keep sharing your photographs in the community. I hope you are well. Best regards.

Glad to see you and thank you for your kind words!
Glad you liked it))
