X marks the Spot!

I’ve always been inspired by those who overcome adversity and transform their struggles into powerful stories. My latest illustration is a tribute to one such figure—Malcolm X.

While creating this piece, I was deeply moved by learning about Malcolm’s difficult childhood. Growing up in a world full of injustice, he faced countless obstacles, including the loss of his father and being separated from his family. But what truly struck me was how he used his time in prison to turn his life around. Instead of letting the experience break him, he embraced self-education, reading everything he could get his hands on, expanding his mind and building the foundation for his future as one of the most powerful voices for equality and justice.

This illustration is my way of honoring his resilience, determination, and the way he transformed himself into a force for change. I hope it serves as a reminder that, even in the darkest times, we can find light and strength within ourselves.
