The End.
The End.
Done with tea, ink and watercolors on watercolor paper, this piece is about the end of things. Not all things, just some.
When I was young, I hated goodbyes. I wanted the fun to stretch on endlessly, for moments to freeze, for time to pause around the people and things I loved. I thought that if something ended, it meant it had failed, or worse, that it was lost forever.
But now I see things differently. Some things need to end so that others can begin. A door doesn’t always close because something went wrong, sometimes it closes to give us room to breathe, to shift, to evolve.
Without endings, there’s no space for growth. No space for surprise. No room for the unknown beauty that waits quietly for its turn.
Endings hurt. They pull. They crack us open. But sometimes, that’s exactly what’s needed.
Because only in that space of letting go can something new take root.
