Musa in acrylic
To @wakeupkitty, for the colors, the art, and the motivation.
Restlessness leads you to take on increasingly difficult challenges. The human face is perhaps one of the most difficult things to paint. At least, that's what I think. The same goes for hands. But everything in art is a learning process. Trial and error.
I enjoyed painting this picture. I think there will be new incursions within and from this type of human figures, with geometric shapes and colors that blend or intersect. I felt much more freedom when painting. That pleases me, because it feels like slight progress.
I had to paint at night. With a dim light. I finished painting at 3 a.m. I slept for about four hours before going to work. But I was left with the satisfaction of the work.
I used seven brushes on pressed canvas. I painted directly onto the canvas as it came from the factory. So the experience was like any other new experience.
I used cerulean blue, titanium white, vermilion, yellow, black, and orange. Turquoise. The finest is number one, of which I used two for the details.

I'm very happy with your comment.
But I would like to learn more about what you mean when you say:
I would like you to explain a little more. Keep in mind that when I took the photo, I had just finished the last brushstrokes and the paint was still wet. You can see the contrast. Are you saying that I should stay away from black and use another color instead? Or define some lines more, in black or another color? Many painters avoid black altogether. And pure white as well.
I love this one and the 2nd photo you show the most and next the end result. I would buy both, same for the cat. Faces, ears, eyes, hands.. I believe the human is more difficult than nature but since humans are far from perfect and its the brain that sees it's in many cases way better than we have in mind (or see it ourselves).
My compliments.
As always, it is an infinite pleasure to create and paint, and if you like what I have painted, then the pleasure is even greater. I will continue creating. Looking into the eyes of pelicans and cats.
I am always happy to watch you!
It's reciprocal. It's like the beginning of spring. The exodus. Birds of a feather flock together. People with affinities and a love for art always have magical things to tell each other and share.
The presence of black color makes me (as a photographer) think of a low key in photography. I'm wondering how this portrait could be done in a low key and if my monocle could do something like that.
This is so colorful and expressive, it portrays your artistic confidence so much and that's one of the things I really love to see in art pieces.
You're an expert on these pictorial matters. Do you think I should tone down the colors, use lower colors (dark or less intense ones), or is it just a trend, a style?
No, it's cool this way, but you could try out other colour palettes.
