SC S25W4: Drawing Mecha Anime

Greetings Steemit friends!
For this week’s stimulating challenge in SC S25W4 Drawing Mecha Anime, I’ve taken to bring to bio one of the most fabulous mecha characters of all time – the RX-78-2 Gundam from the Mobile Suit Gundam series. This anime is comprehended for introducing the “ Real Robot ” style in the mecha genre, fastening on further realistic, military- inspired machines.

🔧 Why RX-78-2 Gundam?

The RX-78-2 Gundam is iconic, with its undyed, glowing, blue, and unheroic shade artifice, realistic involuntary features, and involute design. It represents stopgap and power in the anime, shepherded by the youthful Amuro Ray in a time of space discordancy.

I chose this character because of its perfect balance of mechanical literalism and emblematic heroism.

✏️ Step- by- Step Drawing Process

Step 1:

I began with a head. In the very first step I draw the basic outline of the head eyes and other mechanical parts of the RX-78-2 Gundam.

Step 2:

Then I draw the chest and legs of the RX-78-2 Gundam using different sizes of blocks and boxes and draw the little details of it using HB pencil.

Step 3:

In the next step I draw the right hand of the RX-78-2 Gundam using my drawing skills and draw the weapon of it . Next, I precisely outlined the armor panels, reflections, joints, and the guard. The details in the casket reflections, pack, and knee armor are essential in giving it the mechanical sense.

Step 4:

Then I draw the other hand of the RX-78-2 Gundam and draw the armour shield of it using HB pencil and draw the every little bit detailing of it.

Step 5:

I shadowed the shoulder cannons, mechanical joints, and reflections to give the vision of depth and essence texture.

I used an HB pencil for the original shading, also 2B and 6B pencils for darker tones. I added heavy shading under the casket, behind the guard, and on one side of the face for discrepancy.

Step 8:

After completion of the drawing I simply write my username and date of post and captured using my mobile.

Creating this mecha drawing tutored me so much about figure, literalism, and how shading creates metallic textures. The Real Robot style pushes you to be precise and detailed — and that is what makes it so delightful!
