Fan: My View, Myself Wk51

in africansonsteemlast month

Greetings everyone. It's my first time on this community and I'm submitting my entry on the contest "My View". @saintkelvin17 wants us to express our views on a Fan. Let's dive into the body of the article then.

What do you understand by the word 'fan'?

When I hear that word, what comes to my mind is 'something that causes ventilation'. A fan is a device which may be electronic, or manual that causes cooling when set into motion.

Is there fan in your home? How much and when did you buy it?

Yes, there is a ceiling fan in my home. It was purchased for 18,000 Nigerian naira back in the year 2020 when we began residing in this apartment newly. 18,000 Nigerian naira is an equivalent of 73 steem.

Between hand fan, ceiling fan, table fan and wall fan, which is your favourite and why?

I prefer a hand fan amongst the rest because of the flexibility with which it can ventilate. Below is the image of a hand fan.

A wall fan, due to being fixed to the wall can only cool a spot. If you're in the room and you want to be ventilated, you have to move to the place the fan is facing which may pose discomfort at times. Here is what a wall fan looks like.

A ceiling fan is usually located on the ceiling, at a point in the center of the room. Despite the distance of the ceiling to the ground which may sometimes hinder free ventilation, someone seating at the extreme who's feeling heat will have to sit directly bemeath the fan to be ventilated.

A table fan can be flexible ie. it can be shifted from one position to the other according to the person's wants but the stress of lifting it from a place to another can be seen as discomfort.

However, a hand fan is very portable and can be carried along a person in a bag or something small. The ventilation can be shifted to various parts of the body easily by just placing the fan opposite. Besides, my opinion of the hand fan is based on a personal perspective. I like it because, even if I was to go out, it could tag along.

What happens when we touch a ceiling fan that's turned on?

The risk factors involved are worth avoiding. They include;

  1. Tissue injury: This will occur if you put your finger in between two moving blades. The speed of the fan and sharpness of its blades will very likely sever your finger.
  2. Electric shock: If you touch a live wire that is connected to an electrical source, you will experience an electrical shock. A severe electric shock can cause skin burn. In even worse cases, brain damage may be included.
