140 years. Gone. And then suddenly not.
Saw a short article today that stuck with me more than expected.
Apparently, a bird called the black-naped pheasant-pigeon just showed up again in Papua New Guinea after not being seen since 1882. People thought it was extinct. Like, completely gone.
Turns out it was just hiding all this time.
A research team set up camera traps, and there it was.
Walking around like nothing happened.
No media buzz, no drama. Just a rare bird doing its thing after 140 years of silence.
Not everything has to be groundbreaking.
But small wins like this feel good to read for once.
Less collapse, more “hey, look what’s still out there”.
Found the story on Positive News, by the way.
Might be worth the click.
That’s it. No big thoughts today. Just… good to know.
