Best Song Ever

in Freewriters4 days ago (edited)

It's the mood making us say what the best song ever is and of course, age plays a role. If you can't look back, there's no way you can say what the best song ever is (still personal).

Lately I listen what I listened for a very long time (day after day after day). I wrote the text down (no AI, no lyrics, no internet).

Tanita Tikarm, Trace Chapman were on my playlist (a list that also didn't exist, not even the name). And here I am again. I read the comment (I recommend to do the same). To some, the text "changed" or at least the meaning of it. Not to me. It's still the big escape, now or never. A situation I was in, remember, It's not that time changes how you felt, makes a period in life less harsh.

The fast car? Can be that it's no longer needed since we have buses, long-distance buses, trains... If it comes to it we can run wherever we like to. All it takes is courage and finding the courage to better your life is one of the hardest things. It's true that everything has a price tag, and so does it if you decide to leave.

I did it, and no, every single day of my life, I feel relieved that I left everything behind, escaped, no matter the high price I had to pay and still pay, there's nothing above feeling free.

Right now it's Tracy Chapman who is the best singer, poetry, guitar, a great voice and it's good that she received that Grammy last year.

Always busy, creating with her hands, her nails, her paintbrushes, attentive to everyone. Winter, the children, the grass. Counting the pelicans at odd hours. Feeling the cold. You can go down to the basement, raise Betta splendens fish, their infinite variety of colors. They love mosquito larvae.
But you are still the dragon trainer. You clean their scales and watch them enter the realms of chaos. Any music is an inspiration if we have the slowness to feel it.
The price of freedom is so high. Only those who tear off their skin and have the strength to fight and leave behind, suffer, and reinvent themselves from within. Can feel its warmth. We fight because options are running out, we hang daguerreotypes, we paint the walls, and we let the sun wake us every morning, even from memory, with our arms outstretched, painting or rearranging words. You are a true creative example, a woman and an artist.

I wonder what will happen if we are no longer busy? Any idea? I do frequently say that I just want to be old and sit at the window watching people pass by and work like ants. The truth? I do have a window but no one passes by. LOL
Right now, creating is also limited but at least I can say I have more time for myself, and it's getting cleaner while in between the winter preparations are finished.
Mosquito larvae... I prefer to skip the basement, plenty of stable flies ripping me apart. They pop up as soon as it rains, same for wasps, furious as I empty the water barrel.
The price of freedom is high but at the same time, it's priceless and worth all the struggles, pain and misery. There's always a time, at times all we should do is wait or cut ourselves a path through the woods.
I guess it's time to tame some dragons to get the shipment done.
Who will have the most stress at the end of the road? LOL

I've spent several hours trying to paint, and I don't think today is my day. I didn't like any of the three paintings I started. And it bothered me a lot. I think I should focus my mind on other subjects in the meantime. Let the muses rearrange their ideas and mine.

Thank you so much for your support. I wish you a super creative week/end!

Tracy Chapman is truly an amazing and emotional artist. I agree with your choice :)

She has both: power of words of and a powerful voice. :)
