Behind the Scenes...
The Backdrop: I think we’ve used this colour scheme before.
Day, weeks, months...
It’s been a long time since I was assigned these duties and roles at the Ladies Club. At first it felt exciting, a platform to engage, connect, and contribute. A part of me is always ready to indulge, to show up, to create something memorable. To bring out the creativity they think I have.
But over time the enthusiasm dips. It gets repetitive, at times boring, and often overwhelming. It's an unpaid job, one that's sustained purely by motivation, appreciation, and let’s be honest, the occasional kind word or warm smile.
Side Entrance: Let’s take a look at what can be done here. A small décor element or welcome signage might lift the space.
There’s no paycheck at the end of the month. What fuels this machine is encouragement, a little recognition, and the joy of shared moments. Without that, even the brightest ideas fade into routine.
And then there’s the people, the “ladies,” as we fondly call them. Beautiful souls, but oh so delicate. Everything matters: tone, timing, delivery. You have to tread gently, sugarcoat criticism, frame suggestions as questions, smile even when you're tired, and never ever be too assertive. Because feelings are always hanging in the balance.
Dining Area Backdrop: This should coordinate with the main backdrop, but not overshadow it. Something subtle and elegant...
You learn diplomacy here more than anywhere else. You learn patience. And above all, you learn that what looks like a casual gathering of women is actually a finely tuned web of emotions, egos, and expectations.
But here I am, still showing up. Still doing what needs to be done not because I have to, but because somewhere deep down, I want to. Because I believe that even in the rhythm of routine, there’s purpose. And maybe, just maybe, someone out there is quietly inspired to show up too.
That’s the point why philosophers say there’s no such thing as “pure” altruism.
A warm smile is a small thing. A tiny little thing that costs no one anything. But we expect (excludes altruism) at least that tiny thing as a kind of “return” for our actions.
A brief thank you, a warm smile.
When at least that warm smile doesn’t come (anymore), even the most selfless person burns out.

If you keep 30 men in a room together, for a 30 days, you will hardly see any fight or quarrels but if you 10 ladies in a room for 10 days, the room will be on fire..😊😊
As a leader, managing your fellow ladies comes with a lot of patience and tolerance. Believe me when I tell you that those qualities will also help you in any aspect of life..
