EMPERORS OF THE SKY....

There is nothing more beautiful or awe inspiring to me as I have the privilege to see , and not often, Eagles soar in flight above . In spite of being so large they glide gracefully and smoothly, and quickly.
Eagles are one of the biggest and most majestic of all birds. Eagles are admired all over the wold, and is a living symbol of Power, Freedom and transcendence.
There are over 60 species of Eagles,most found in Eurasian and Africa. Very sparse in North America with only 2, Australia three and nine in Central and South America.
It is one of the most powerful and largest birds of pray, making it and apex predator in the bird world.
Even the smallest specie fly faster, more directly and has larger wings than comparable birds of the same size.
There are a few exceptional and better known Eagles.The bigger Eagles are the White Tailed Eagle with a 215 cm wingspan, The Philippine Eagle comes second with a 100 cm wingspan, and the Stella Sea Eagle weighs 6-7 kilos.
The South Nicobar Serpent Eagle is the smallest Eagle only weighing 450 grams and has a 40 mm wingspan.

Bald Eagle.

The difference between Bald Eagles and others are that they do not emit the rough piercing scream as others do, instead, they have a high pitching giggle and a weak scream. They prefer to pilfer fish from other birds and will fed on almost anything from trash, dead animals, gulls,ducks, and other prey.They are known for the largest nests of all bird, built high up in trees.
Eagles are known to carry the largest loads of all birds, a Bald Eagle flew a 68 kg mule dear fawn and was captured on video. the largest known kill by Martial Eagle is a duiker weighing 37kg 7-8 times its own weight.
Snake Eagles prefer Snakes and serpents, and Fish Eagles eat fish, and birds and small vertebrae.

They are proud and arrogant, and just by looking t heir eyes highly intelligent, and aware of their own strength. (From there the saying" Eagles Eye"' which means they are seeing all. They have a lot of confidence as they ae aware of everything around them and often glance over the shoulder to make sure no other Eagle or predators are following them.
They seldom migrate, unless the forage levels are disturbed by human interventions, like agricultural activity, they mate for life.
Eagles lay only once a year between 1-3 eggs, and only 50% chicks survive, an it is survival of the fittest with Eagles.They nest in one nest unles disturbed for years.

The Hindus have a lesser deity called Garunda, with the body of a strong powerful man wearing a crown with an eagle beak and wings.
The Ancient Peruvians of Moche worshiped Eagles, and is Zeus'patron animal, in the myths Zeus used to adopt the Eagle form.
In a lot of the Arthurian myths, Merlin had a golden eagle who could tell the future.
The North Americans ancients used Eagle feathers in their headdress as part of their culture and rights....And tribal chiefs have been names as White Eagle or black eagle etc. In the world over 25 Countries have eagles depicted in their Coats of Arms, it is the National bird of some like Germany Austria, Mexico and Kazakhstan
In many ancient European coats of Arms either an Eagle's head, or head and wings of full Eagle appears, symbol of strength and power.
