First Mandaue-Lapulapu Bridge - the Cebu based bridge which officially known as Sergio "Serging" Veloso Osmeña Jr. Bridge, a tribute to the former senator and former Cebu Governor Sergio Osmeña Jr., a man who gave a great honor of a progressive Cebu.

Bridge Entrance Road Left-Side

In the history, the bridge was built and the construction began in 1970, a year after the ordination of Mandaue as a chartered city. And this bridge was formally introduced to the public and inaugurated on July 4, 1973.

Truss Inspired Bridge

The bridge is popularly and proudly designed by the Filipino engineers. Which it characterized as a truss bridge with the total length of 854 meters, the width of 9 meters and with the longest span of 145 meters.

Which it is made of trusses which means it is seen with metal bars that cross the Mactan Channel, and connected with the city of Lapu-Lapu to the city of Mandaue. It is among of the three famous bridges that span across the Mactan Channel that connects the mainland of Cebu to the island of Mactan.

Solar Panel Lamppost

From the mainland, the bridge has only one pedestrian side walkways and has a bicycle lane, that situated in the south side portion of the bridge. And there are also solar panel lamppost lightings installed on the railings side, that gives brightness to all passing riders and commuters.

Bridge Entrance Road Right-Side

It is accessed via A.C. Cortes Avenue, Mandaue City and going to Lapu-Lapu City via Basak–Marigondon Road and intersects the M.L. Quezon National Highway. Which it has a no entry sign for all types of trailer trucks in under the bridge entrance.

Different Streetfoods

Infact during the night time, there are varieties of streetfood vendors found under the foot of this bridge. Which they displays and sell a different kinds of mouth-watering and stomach craving streetfoods, like.

In the side street road under this bridge, it serves as the playing ground of children and teenagers who loves bicycle riding.
