Lapu-lapu City Public Market - it is a typical public market that offering a wide range of various goods, both wet and dry. And a public hub for clothing, kitchenwares and handicrafts, of course it also offers other line product as well as wet goods such as fruits, vegetables, and meat products.

The market is surrounded by different types of commercial establishments like; shopping center, malls, pawning, banking, hardware, and housewares.

Which it is found in the busiest streets of the city, in fact, it is also consider as the downtown area of the city where people can go often for a shopping, hanging-out together with colleagues, or someone else in enjoying strolling with the cities pride.

It is one of the busiest, biggest and oldest public market of the entire Cebu, which it is located in Geson Building, 101 A G.Y. Dela Serna St. and B.M Dimataga St., Lapu-lapu City.

In history, this streets are one of the oldest street in Lapu-lapu where it was previously built during the Spanish colonial times. In fact, it is also the streets where the old municipal public market situated and really stands.

And for today, the two roads are now separated between the Old Town Plaza and Calle Mangubat. Which it is bounded to the East by "Old Town Plaza" and for now a national road called G.Y Dela Serna Street, M.L Quezon Avenue and to the West by "Calle Mangubat" then now called B.M Dimataga Street, and in honor to Opon or Lapu-Lapu City former Mayor Bartolome Mangubat Dimataga.

Calle Mangubat or Mangubat Street was named after Lazaro Mangubat which part of the design and creation of the original pueblo in Opon together with Bartolome Mangubat Dimataga or B.M. Dimataga Street as "Calle Mangubat". In memory of his father Datu Mangubat and grandfather Datu Lapu-Lapu, which is the two famous former ruler of Opon or Lapu-lapu, and Cebu's Rajah in 16th century.

Thank you maam, I'm pretty sure you can relate because this place is the shopping center capital of shoppers in Lapu-lapu, actually based on my experience, everytime I went into this place to buy some clothing most in the ukay-ukay inwhich I really experience mengle of the crowd of people looking for items that fits them.
And the same thing to the public market, which looks like it can't drop a needle because of a crowd of the people buying some of their daily basic needs.
