Igniting the spirit of kinship on New Year's Eve 2025

In the morning I was checking my car engine because I heard a little strange sound, I didn't know which part of the engine the sound came from. It sounded like a snoring engine, so I planned to immediately take it to a repair shop to be checked by a more expert.

Then I continued my activities by checking some other parts such as the condition of the wiper water to clean the windshield and checking the oil condition to be on a certain line. My test results showed that the oil condition was still stable.

Then at that moment my wife came over and said a few things to me, what if we at night we make a grilling event with other family members, especially now that we are gathered together.

She explained that each of the family members who were capable and had an income would contribute some money for the grilling, and she planned to grill fish, chicken and corn.

I agreed and handed over some money to make the grilling go smoothly, and my wife and her family headed to the market that morning to shop for the necessary supplies and they also bought some spices to make the dishes taste better.

At noon, I was preparing some work using my cell phone. Suddenly one of the neighbors who is also my wife's family came and greeted me. I don't remember his name, but he was a special boy despite his limitations.

At that time he had just returned from the mosque after performing Zuhur prayer in congregation, he was happy to chat with me because I also often bothered him. I was a little curious about how he read Surah Al-Fatihah and some other verses.

Then I tried to test, he was willing to read a few verses without the slightest embarrassment, he was able to read well all the verses I asked although there were some imperfect readings because of the limited conditions he had, so in my opinion his reading was good enough.

Then he asked me if I had prayed, he then reminded me to pray immediately, not to be busy playing with my cellphone. I smiled at him, then I excused myself to leave him to pray immediately because remembering the time of prayer should not be delayed.

In the evening, it was time for us to start the fires, so we worked together and helped each other, with the men preparing to burn wood, charcoal and coconut shells.

Meanwhile, my wife, along with her female relatives, arranged the fish on the grill, applied the spices and prepared a number of other necessities.

Amidst the flames, we told each other silly stories that kept us all entertained, we also joked around and pestered our younger siblings. Our younger siblings were very curious and couldn't wait to eat the cooked food.

While grilling the fish and chicken we also took some photos to document, of course this togetherness will remain to be remembered all the time.

After a long time waiting for the chicken and fish to be cooked, we took some banana leaves that would be used to serve the food that had been cooked. We sat together while enjoying all the food that had been served.

After we were full, we helped each other clean up the dirty dishes and utensils. Special moments like this will certainly be very difficult to repeat again, so let it all just be stored in memories and memories. Happy New Year.
