The Thai Tourism Authority is pleased to announce the program of the royal coronation of King Rama X, based on information from the Foreign Office, the government's public relations department.

The royal coronation of King Rama X includes five historical events.

• The preparation of holy water for the royal coronation ceremony;
• the inscription of the Royal Golden Plaques and the engraving of the Royal Seal of State;
• the three-day royal coronation ceremony;
• the royal land procession;
• the Royal Barge procession.

The preparation of holy water for the royal coronation ceremony

The first process in preparing the royal coronation ceremony is to collect water from various important sources, consecrate it and combine it for the royal cleansing and anointing ceremonies during the royal coronation ceremony.

April 6, 2019: The collection of waters to be blessed and used for holy water at the royal coronation ceremony is held in all 76 provinces.

8th 9th April 2019: Consecration rites for the collected waters are organized at important temples in the respective provinces.

10th-11th April 2019: The waters are handed over to the Ministry of the Interior in Bangkok.

April 12, 2019, 1:00 pm - 2:09 pm: The Bangkok Municipality of Ho Sattrakhom at the Grand Palace will hold a Water Dedication rite and hand over the sacred water to the Ministry of Interior to combine it with provincial waters.

April 18, 2019, 5:30 pm: The waters from 76 provinces and Bangkok are being merged by the Home Office to complete another ordination rite at Wat Suthat, one of Bangkok's oldest and most important temples.

19 April 2019, 07.30: The holy water is taken in a procession of Wat Suthat and kept in the Ubosot of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

The inscription of the Royal Golden Plaques and the engraving of the Royal Seal of State

The ceremony of the inscription on the Royal Golden Plaque of the King's official title and the Royal Golden Plaque of the Royal Shoroscope and the engraving of the Royal Seal of State are important processes in the preparation of the Royal Coronation Ceremony. This takes place within the Ubosot of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

April 22, 2019, 4:00 pm: Ten monks sing prayer days in the Temple of the Emerald Buddha the day before the scheduled day of the inscription ceremony.

April 23, 2019, 08.19-11.35: In the Temple of the Emerald Buddha's Ubosot, a ceremony is held to make on the Royal Golden Plaque an inscription of His Majesty the King's royal title and His Majesty's Royal Golden Plaque horoscope as well Engraving of the Royal Seal of the State. On this occasion, the inscription of the Royal Golden Plaques with the official titles of the members of the royal family is made.

May 2, 2019, Sept. 16-20.30: His Majesty the King pays tribute to the Equestrian Statue of King Chulalongkorn at the Royal Plaza and the Monument of King Rama I at the foot of the Memorial Bridge. He also worships sacred beings in the Baisal Daksin Throne Hall and the Chakrabat Biman Royal Residence.

May 3, 2019, 10:00 am: The Royal Golden Plaque with the official title of His Majesty the King, the Royal Golden Plaque of His Majesty's Horoscope, and the Royal Seal of the State are transferred from the Temple of the Emerald Buddha to the Baisal Daksin Throne Hall.

The main process of the royal coronation ceremony takes place on May 4, 2019 and marks the coronation of King Rama X.

The three-day royal coronation ceremony

May 4, 2019 10: 9-12: 00: The Royal Purification or "Song Muratha Bhisek" ceremony takes place in the royal residence Chakrabat Biman. "Muratha Bhisek" refers to the action of pouring holy water over the king's head, also known as ablution. This is followed by the Anointing Ceremony in the Baisal Daksin Thronesaal. Then His Majesty the King goes over to the Bhadrapitha throne and sits under the Royal Nine-Tiered Umbrella, where Chief Brahman hands him the Royal Golden Plaque of His Majesty, the Royal Ornate, the antiquities and cheap weapons of sovereignty. After the coronation and investiture ceremony, His Majesty presents the first royal command.

14.00: His Majesty the King grants members of the royal family, the Privy Council and the Cabinet, as well as high-ranking officials, a large audience to bestow his majesty in the Amarindra Vinicchaya Throne Hall.

4:00 pm: His Majesty goes to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha to declare himself the royal patron saint of Buddhism.

13:19 -20: 30: The ceremony of the Assumption of the royal residence takes place in the royal royal residence Chakrabat Biman. The purpose of the ceremony is to symbolically record the royal residence and perform housewarming.

May 5, 2019 9:00 am: In the Amarindra Vinicchaya Throne Hall, the ceremony takes place to award the title of His Majesty Royal Cypher and Royal and to award the royal ranks to members of the kings.

4.30 pm: His Majesty the King rides in the royal farm in the Royal Palanquin to circle the city and offers people the opportunity to attend their new king.

The royal land procession

The processions of the Royal Land Procession are from the Grand Palace, the procession comes from the Abim Bimok Pavilion through Vises Jayasri Gate. Turn right onto Na Phra Lan Road, turn left onto Ratchadamnoen Nai Road, turn right onto Ratchadamnoen Klang Road and turn left onto Tanao Road before heading for Wat Bovoranives. The Royal Palanquin stops in front of Wat Bovoranives, where His Majesty the King enters to worship the main image of the Buddha in the Ubosot.

The procession continues along Phra Sumen Road and turns right onto Ratchadamnoen Road, which leads through Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall. Then turn left onto Atsadang Road and Bamrung Mueang Road. The Royal Palanquin stops in front of Wat Rajabopidh where His Majesty arrives to pay homage to the main image of the Buddha in the Ubosot.

The procession leaves Wat Rajabopidh via Fueang Nakhon Road and then turns right onto Charoen Krung Road. The Royal Palanquin stops in front of Wat Phra Chetuphon where His Majesty arrives to pay homage to the Buddha's main image in the Ubosot.

The procession with his Majesty, who rides in the Royal Palanquin, leaves Wat Phra Chetuphon along Thai Wang Road and heads back to the Grand Palace. It enters Vises Jayasri Gate to the Abhorn Bimok Pavilion.

May 6, 2019 4:30 pm: His Majesty the King grants the good wishes of the people to a public on a balcony of the Suddhaisavarya Prasad Hall in the Grand Palace.

5.30 pm: His Majesty grants an audience to members of the International Diplomatic Corps to make their concessions to this special occasion at the Chakri Maha Prasad Throne Hall.

The Royal Barge procession

October 2019

The final process of the coronation of King Rama X is the Royal Barge Procession, which will be held in October 2019. The procession begins at Wasukri Pier at 4:00 pm as His Majesty the King drives along the Chao Phraya River to the Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) for the delivery of robes to Buddhist monks (Royal Kathin Ceremony).

About 2,300 oarsmen will be ready to row over 50 barges, which can be arranged in five groups from Wasukri Pier to Wat Arun with a total length of four kilometers. Rhythmic Barge Ruderlieder are part of this ceremonial water process, a rare spectacle, which is held only on special occasions.

The royal processions, both on land and on water, show the fame and great power of the monarch in accordance with the traditional beliefs and tradition traditions passed down through generations.

They are also the culmination of the royal coronation ceremony, which is considered one of the most important events for all Thai kings.
