Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.

Life is full of unexpected experiences, and some of them stay with us forever. One such incident happened last night. It not only reminded me of the value of friendship but also taught me the true meaning of human compassion.

The incident took place in Lalkha, where one of my colleagues lives. Lalkha is located just a kilometer inside from the Dhaka–Narayanganj highway, through the road beside Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium. You can reach there by rickshaw for just 10 taka. It seemed like an ordinary place, but what happened that night was extraordinary.

Around 10 PM, my colleague called me. I could clearly hear fear and worry in his voice. He said,
“Brother, the door lock is jammed. I can’t open it at all. I’ve been calling the landlord, but he’s not picking up. Can you please help me?”

I immediately realized this was serious. It was getting late, and his whole family was stuck inside. What if something bad happened? That thought pushed me to act fast.

I started asking around for help and finally found a carpenter, an elderly man aged around 55 to 65. I took him along to my colleague’s house. When we arrived, the family was visibly anxious. The moment we saw the door, we were shocked—it wasn’t an ordinary door. It was actually a ship door! During the building’s construction, they had installed a heavy, abandoned ship door. It was extremely strong and heavy, not something you could fix like a normal lock.

The carpenter started working with a few screwdrivers and tools. He tried his best, but the lock was stuck so badly that it wasn’t easy to open. After about 30 minutes of struggle, he finally managed to break the lock and open the door. Inside, we saw my colleague and his family breathe a sigh of relief. They had been truly terrified, especially with small children inside—it could have been a disaster.

But the problem wasn’t over yet. Since the lock was broken, the door couldn’t be locked anymore. Leaving the door open at night wasn’t an option. The carpenter suggested securing it with a latch temporarily. That’s how they spent the night. The next morning, they bought a new lock and fixed it.

This whole experience taught me that sometimes small problems can turn into big crises, and in those moments, lending a helping hand is true humanity.

Later, my colleague thanked me and said,
“Brother, I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.”
And honestly, I felt proud and satisfied that I could be there for him during such a tough time.

For me, this wasn’t just about opening a door lock—it was a story of humanity, friendship, and responsibility. In today’s busy life, we often forget the importance of human connection. But this incident reminded me that sometimes a single phone call, a little help, and simply being there can make someone feel safe and secure.

Thanks all
