The Diary Game: Feeding Program #1- Feeling Happy Feeding the Children this Vacation Days
Dear Diary,
On April 24,2025, we were having a feeding program to the children near our community Christian house fellowship. It is already summer vacation to all children and some of the children don't have the luxury to go on different places for their vacation. Two days ago, while we were in the ministry work, I had observed many children around playing at 2:30pm. Then I tap my husband if we can have a feeding program the next day.
This is an unexpected and unplanned feeding because it's less than 24 hours of preparation. My husband agreed to my plan. Since we don't have much budget, we make a special champorado or the chocolate rice porridge with milk. Our goal is to gather the children and invite them to a fun-filled Bible sharing with interactive activities then eat together after the activities.
We came to our small church at 11am so we can prepare the things we needed. My husband prepared the rice porridge. He cooked the rice first then when it boils he added brown sugar. When it boils the second time, he added tableya for chocolate flavoring. We only had small cooking pot but we make sure everyone attended can eat, by the secret of praying, everyone can eat and be served.
At 2:30 pm we started the program. While my husband continued preparing the porridge at the church, I went to the venue so we can start the program. I taught the children to pray first before to start anything. We don't have a big space but the children make the place comfortable for them. I taught them how to do action songs after praying.
Thanks to my sister in Christ who took me pictures while I am teaching to the children a story about the birth of Jesus Christ. Of course, we need to animate actions and voices when we do story telling if we don't have pictures to show. Thanks to God that I am a little good at it because I have been teaching little children for 9 years already at school.
After a short program, we started the feeding. My husband assigned to distribution of our Choco rice porridge. There were 30 or more children came to the feeding. Some attended the program first, some came after the program. They patiently wait for their turn while falling in line. We only had limited plates and spoon so I told the children to get plates in their home.
This was their scenario while eating. They find corners where they can eat their rice porridge. Some bring the food to their house so they can eat comfortably. I was just happy because I know God has blessed this activity. I was happy and contented hoping for a next feeding program, and praying for financial assistance so we can have other foods for feeding.
I also thank my brethrens who helped me to make this program successful. They helped me gather the children, arranged the venue, cooked the rice porridge, and washing the plates after.
This has been my diary game today. I am inviting @okere-blessing @josepha to write your diary, too.
Truly yours,
@jes88
