Exercising My Right to Vote As the Citizen of the Philippines

in RECREATIVE STEEM21 days ago

Dear Diary,

I belong to a democratic country, the Philippines. On May 12, Monday, we had the National elections for senators, Congress, City Mayors and City counselors. It was declared as the National Holiday so that everyone can vote on the elections.

My finger marks with ink after I voted.

We wake up early in the morning. We do our morning routine. My husband cooked for breakfast while I take care my children's hygiene. We eat breakfast together. When everything is set in our daily routine, I let my husband vote first because he voted in the other city. He didn't transfer yet. He left the house at 9am and the three of us left at home.

When it's lunch time, the three of us only eat together because my husband didn't came home yet. Until I led my children for the noon nap. At 1pm my husband came, then I travelled to do vote.

I was thinking that there were only few voters left, but I was wrong. There were still many voters inside the school were my name listed. Not like last year, people didn't came early.

Before I fall in line, there were many food stalls in every corner. I bought food first because I only eat small lunch.

I knew my room number because I looked in the online precinct number. The line is very long and I feel the hot weather inside the school. I don't have a cellphone load that time so I get bored while on the line. There were teachers assigned as the electoral board in the election. I served before, but now I didn't because the work as an electoral board is not easy.

It took me one hour for the first line before I went to the waiting area. Another one hour for the waiting area. Then when I get inside the voting area, I waited for another 30 minutes before I sit my voting chair. Taking pictures are not allowed inside the voting room so I only captured less. Almost 4pm, I finished my job. I went home directly and bought some food for dinner.

The next day, the result was served to Filipino citizen. Whoever wins, I hope they can run the city well and can help each Filipino to citizen.

This has been my diary game. I am inviting @natz04 @kyrie1234 to write your diary game too.

Truly yours,

Hola amiga, espero que las elecciones allá no sean igual que en mi País. Antes nos pintaban un dedo el meñique con tinta azul, ahora no.
