Renting a house means saying goodbye to a lot of different people.steemCreated with Sketch.

If you'v been reading my blog for the past couple of years then you know that I share a house with two other guys.

I was actually the first tenant in this house. I showed up on the first day that it was purchased by the landlord, and we came to an agreement about the rental cost.

I've been here ever since. I've seen quite a few roommates come and go. Each roommate has their different ups and downs.

Anyone who's ever shared a living space with another person knows that you sometimes have to guard your food. Some roommates will eat your food. That's one of the worst things about living with someone else.

The second worst thing is probably noise. Not everyone lives on the same schedule. Sometimes when you are sleeping your other roommate is just be waking up. Maybe he has some jam he wants to listen to in the shower at full volume.

Maybe he's decided to bench his favorite TV series on his new stereo system at 4 in the morning. Who are you to tell him that you can't do that?

I've actually put a clause in the roommate agreement that says that we should not have super loud music at 4:00 in the morning. It doesn't always get the full support of everyone else though because drunk people don't pay attention.

Having said that, for at least a year now I have had two roommates that are very different.

You might have heard me talk about the generous roommate. He likes to buy expensive beers and throw them around at everyone.

He likes to invite people out to dinner and then pay for the entire meal. He's constantly throwing money around even though he doesn't make that much. He works constantly.

He's a super nice guy, a super cool guy, and somebody that I really enjoy spending time with.

The other roommate is sort of an aggressive fellow. He goes to school full time and he has a job in a restaurant like I do.

He has a tendency to eat your food. He has a tendency to drink your beer, which is really frustrating. He never replaces anything either no matter what you might say about it. He kind of really acts like he just owns the place which makes everyone around him mad.

You can guess which roommate I prefer to spend time with.

It's a sad day though. Last night my favorite roommate told me that he is moving out. We were planning to move out together, but unfortunately the cryptocurrency market hasn't really been going my way yet.

So I have to say goodbye to that roommate.

It really does suck. We shared some beers together last night and had our farewells. I hate to see this guy go because he's one of the best roommates that has ever been in this house.

This especially sucks because now I am not sure what's going to happen. I guess we will get another roommate but he might not be someone that turns out to be great either.

I guess whether or not he's a good roommate eventually he'll be gone like everyone else. Eventually I'll be gone too because that's simply how the world works.

Renting a house means saying goodbye to a lot of different people.

Sad..... about your favorite roommate leaving. Is he moving very far away?

Sad too ..... about having a roommate that is a food thief. No matter how someone presents themselves, you just never know what they will really do once they are in. That thought has made me rent by myself for years.... .when it was convenient.... .and when it wasn't. It's not right and that guy knows it, but doesn't have good enough character to not do it. Sorry you have to deal with that.

It's about 45 minutes away. Not too far but far enough to be a pain in the butt.

funny when you said you have to guard your food ..........hungry people will always eat it. ha ha ha ha

sorry though that you had to say your farwells

You gotta get your own space :-)

Yep. It would help if the market started going back up.
