De Verwoeste Stad
(The destroyed city)
Rotterdam lacks the beauty of the past and this bronze statue reflects that well. The heart is missing, and that's about it. The place where the statue stood decades ago (Plein 1940) was a bare, unappetizing place. As we say: Not worth writing home about (an expression that definitely comes from the shipping past).
I do find the statue itself beautiful. Do I think of the Second World War when the Germans bombed the city? The answer is: no, and many people like me will not dwell on that for a moment. It is not that the Second World War has been forgotten, but we have been celebrating May 5, Liberation Day, for years with all kinds of nationalities, including the Germans (and why not when the royal family married Germans and the grandfather of the current king was Hitler's bodyguard, something that many Dutch people do not even know. Strangely enough, that is not taught in the Dutch history lessons at school.

This video is the Polygone news that was only shown in cinemas before the start of the film. Here it is said that it is unknown where the more than 4 meter high pedestal comes from. Did they not know or was it concealed that this pedestal was intended for a statue of Hitler in Berlin? In itself a strange situation but it certainly falls under the heading of "using materials sparingly and not wasting anything".

THE SCREAM, BY MUNCH
There are several paintings, in which Edvuard Munch himself versioned (around 1890)It is said to be the most stolen painting in history.
Suppose that the entire history of art is cleverly hovering over the life of the artist himself. Sometimes it is more remarkable the artistic journey or the psyche of the artist, which is undoubtedly linked to his work. This art, where the absurd and everyday has versions, moves into the world of feelings it creates in those who consume it. The palpable brushstrokes, strokes and colors used, show a heartbreaking vision of society. We must anchor ourselves to the types of colors, materials and geography of the artist in question. What at the time could be a remarkable breakthrough, to break out of the molds. I also believe that the cultural richness that delegates to us is part of that recognition as an artist. Someone being persevering, without stopping painting and offering tones to his life and to the mortals around him.
It is a cry defying the spaces. Or maybe plugging the ears to stop feeling the anguish of clocks and machines whirring. The possible escape from hospitals and electric shocks. The inner darkness and all the nuances from within that peeks into the viewer's eyes.
It is a work of impact. I am left in limbo, between what I like as visual art and what it offers behind the scenes about the feelings it can produce.
All art is an expression. But even as someone I know said.
It's not easy to paint ugly either.

It's a popular and a colourful one, I love the painter's style and technique.

I think the scream is a self-portrait of the painter himself, hahaha. At that time the color ultramarine blue was worth so much that paintings were given a value according to the amount of blue used. Although in 1828 synthetic blue was already beginning to be used, it was still not very widespread. For this specific painting, blue was used quite a bit. So I imagine that the painter began to paint and, after realizing all the blue was used up, he got the famous SCREAM.

Since you are completely into blue I am sure this is true. No one can feel the frustration of being out of blue better than you. I wonder if your painting will be more valuable if you only use blue, blue and all the other shades of blue. LOL
And I haven't seen the sea for years. Blue is a color to study. Wonderful. Enviable. Strong. It creates many shades. Your idea is likely to pass through the lab.
The sea with us isn't blue but grey... I haven't seen it for year either.
Did you try that style/technique?
No I didn't.
(No quise escribir voces)
Pero en el contexto mediático actual, he visto lo usan para representar la sorpresa y deseo de comprar algo, con el (Oh my God¡¡¡¡)
Ahorita, me llegó un verso de la canción del grupo Elefante:
I don't know why it's called "the Scream" since I don't see that scream. This is more what children do.. pressing the hands against the ears and saying: Lalalalalala I don't hear you!
In this case we see an adult on a bridge, will it collapse And what about the sky, good for an headache and so is the rest of the background. It's also clear that the personage is the only one experiencing it since the two in the background look normal, who know they will turn around if he had screamed like a maniac, don't you believe people would have in 1890? A lot was labelled as crazy back then, dementia, being more sensitive and religion had a huge impact on how one was supposed to act.
The painting as it is interesting but not something you hand in your hallway (let alone living room) unless you want to make your guest very uncomfortable. Like many paintings, this one is also for sale as a postcard. Imagine someone sends it to you. What to think about it?
Ugly is indeed a hard task.. with you I believe the painter like most artists always use themselves even if they copy someone else or pretend it's fiction.

Well, yes, here we must agree that the inner beauty of the concept is greater than the outer beauty which in this situation is more than trivial the essence of the composition is tragedy and there is little joy in tragedy.
Yes, and tragedy is alien to people who hope for something better for example that bombs will never fall on their houses but if the artist wanted to inspire people to think in this way then he was not able to convince everyone because wars continue... sadly.
But you know I have always been interested in how a certain surrealistic plot in the form of deformed forms is born in the head of a sculptor or artist and gives him an understanding that his work as they say, will catch the attention of the viewer who will be able to look at the sculpture through the eyes of its creator.
But you know that God having created us in his own image, wanted and wants us to look at the world the same way He looks at it but in many things people are not like-minded with God they can call the vile beautiful, and they will oppress and eradicate the beautiful until everything around them becomes vile to please them.

The only way to see this statue complete is if you stay from a huge distance. If you stand underneath it you see something completely different. I only see the "a cry" and "the missing heart" altogether very painful. I feels as if the this man is made out of the scattered parts of the city's heart. It reminds me of "Tangram".
What if god changed through the ages? Even if not each one of them is made after his example, with all the emotions included. God himself I wouldn't describe as a peaceful person, he destroyed a lot, caused wars and it feels he still does till today. I also find it strange to read if people say: I pray to my god, or god is for the US, Who made that up?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

You see, the thing is that, if you think about it, a regular hoe has killed many people, only because they somehow didn't hold their posture correctly when they were uprooting weeds with it. Some people work with it without any problems, while others will immediately throw out their backs and end up in bed with radiculitis for a long time.
Probably, this is also the case with faith in God, everything depends on how correctly we treat Him, what we seek and this communication, how we define our goals and their achievement :)
Thank you for your reply and sharing some wise words. 🙂

Dante and Virgil in Hell is one painting that I find so masterful and scary at the same time, the anatomical structures and formation are so daring and satisfying, the temperature of the painting is another sweet thing, not to talk of the questionable gestures of the main figures, in all, it's just a very powerful composition trust me.

Questionalble gestures? If we look at the figures at the background, it's clear what they think. LOL
I wonder if it's possible to kiss in that position.. a knee in the back should to the trick to not fall down. Wha do you think? Would it add something extra to sexlife?
Thanks for sharing and joining!
I really do not know what to keep of the painting, I guess I'll just have to agree with whatever the artist says about it.
How do we know if the artists said this? Or if he didn't say A and meant be? Isn't art meant to show something, make something clear? It's like reading between the lines.
Not all artworks are meant to be understood by sight, in some cases, only the artist knows what he or she is trying to communicate.

Well I guess it's a mistake. I spot it because I am working on the tag for weekly report. I guess it would be a huge different if a suggestion list appears when we are typing a hashtag, it would greatly reduce mistype. Just my 50 cent.
Thanks for letting us know
A mistype doable by anyone.
