MY HELLO KITTY EXPERIENCE

I’m an avid fan of anything pink and my childhood dream is to live in either Hello Kitty or Barbie inspired home. My dream keeps on burning whenever I’m watching video clips of those individuals who already built a home like this. No matter how much I really want it; my dream was trapped in a fantasy world, far away from reality. I used to accept that it may never happen and just proceed in doing the things that are more important than this.

I can’t explain the excitement that I felt when I saw a post in my Facebook feed about the Hello Kitty Condo in Bali Oasis Condominium Phase 2, Marcos highway, Santolan, Pasig city, Manila. Upon checking if it’s legitimate, we decided to give it a shot. There are two types of Condo unit that they offer, the studio type and the two bedroom unit. Let's start!

The Living Room

As you can see, everything is Hello Kitty. There’s a wide mirror on its wall, a carpet, and I guess the living room can accommodate 5-7 persons. I’m with my two friends so the space is really enough for us and we can sit comfortably. Although the center table is cute, it’s noticeable that the paints are fading. But I don’t mind, I understand that depreciation of some assets are normal in each passing years.

This place has Wi-Fi so those millennials will never get bored. It has a 42 inches Smart TV where you can watch Youtube and Netflix. It also has a DVD player with a speaker but we didn’t use it because the TV is enough for us to be happy. There are five pairs of slippers and I’m wearing one of them. The mini-cabinet is not only a design; you can really put something inside of it.

This is what the other chair looks like. And yes, expect it to be hello kitty as well. It has a table on the side with stuffed toys, and I also put my phone on it whenever I’m charging. If you look closely, there’s a round-shaped thing below. I don’t know how you call it but it has a liquid inside of it. If you plug it, the colors are revealed and automatically changing (it can be blue, green, and red). It also releases a very fragrant smell in the whole place.

The Dinning Area

It can accommodate 4 persons only so if your group is more than four, some friends will have to eat in the living room. Don’t worry about it; it’s still near to each other. There’s also a wide mirror at the back, and on the upper side, there’s a painting with stuffed toys. There are plates, cups, and utensils that you can use. Cooking is not allowed so you may bring your own food or call for a fast food delivery. In our case, we ate in the restaurant near to us (lunch and dinner), and call for a fast food delivery the next day (breakfast and lunch).

The Kitchen Area

As I mentioned earlier, cooking is not allowed so there’s no stove and oven here. When I went in this area, the first thing that I did is to check if the cups are clean, free from dust, and no foul odor because I want to drink water. I’m satisfied to know that the condo owner is really checking on every little detail whenever they have visitors. This Hello Kitty Condo is not only cute; it is also a clean place.

The water dispenser has a hot and warm button only. Yes, it has no cold button which I don’t mind because I’m not a fan of cold drinks. They provided a dishwashing liquid so there’s nothing to worry if you are going to use the kitchen utensils, you can always clean it after using. They have a heater, rice cooker, blender, wine glass, and I’m not sure what do you call the other one.

I don’t know if we are allowed to use it but to be safe, we decided to just take a photo of it. We also don’t bring anything to cook since it is prohibited, and we don’t have wine because the alcoholic beverages are not allowed as well. There are plenty of plates, cups, forks, spoons, and knives. We used it when we call for a fast food delivery; we just want to know the feeling of eating in those cute Hello Kitty plates.

If you love cold drinks, there’s nothing to worry if there’s no cold button in the water dispenser. You can put your soft drinks, milk tea, and anything drinks that you have (except for alcoholic beverages) inside the fridge. They provided a pitcher where you can put water in the fridge and wait for it to get cold. If you can’t wait (because it may take a long time), they provided cute ice cubes to give you an instant cold drink. If you try to look at the top of the fridge, you will find these adorable set of Hello Kitty. There are trash can and mop so there’s no reason to mess up inside. Enjoy but never forget to clean your mess, be a responsible adult.

The Bathroom

There’s a separate slipper that you can wear inside the bathroom and on the left side, there’s a big hello kitty clock (it looks like a big wrist watch) on the wall. They also provided another trash can and there’s also a bathroom tissue. I’m sorry because I forgot to take a photo of it because I’m too overwhelmed with all the Hello Kitty around me. We were reminded that we have to bring our own toiletries so I'm not surprised if only a piece of soap was provided. If you are wondering about the Hello Kitty bottles, it was all empty. There’s no bathtub and the shower has no heater, but don’t worry because the water is not cold.

The Master's Bedroom

This is where Jessica and I used to sleep. It’s a queen size bed with two pillows so basically, we have one pillow each. If you are someone like me who can’t sleep with only one pillow, you can use the pillows from the Living Room or the pillows placed on the couch if this room. It is also better to wear a pajama and jacket (or any long sleeves) because the blanket is too thin to make you warm. The other option is to bring your own blanket.

The Hello Kitty on the top of the cabinet is a lampshade but we didn’t open it because I can’t sleep with any lights on. I also call this whole condo unit as mirror unit because it has wide mirrors everywhere, so it’s hard to take pictures from all angles without capturing myself. It has a carpet and a couch with a big stuffed toy and two square pillows. There are more stuffed toys placed on the upper side of the room. There’s a clock placed on the top of a wide mirror with Hello Kitty designs painted on it.

It has a split type aircon and it is the only room that has it. We decided to set the temperature to the lowest degree and open the door of this room to make the whole place colder. Though it will take a couple of hours, it’s still effective. The aircon’s controller (sorry I don’t know the right term for this) is placed beside the right side of the door. The Hello Kitty head is the main light of this room and the black photo is what it looks like when the light is on.

The Other Bedroom

This is the room where Renz used to sleep. It has no aircon but it has its own electric fan (and sorry because I forgot to take a photo of it). Though it has no aircon, it’s still cold because as I’ve said earlier, we opened the door of the master’s bedroom so that the whole place will be colder. We appreciate our friend’s effort to accompany us even if he is a man and he doesn’t like Hello Kitty.

The master’s bedroom and this room are almost exactly alike in terms of the things/designs inside of it. Just like the master’s bedroom, it has a carpet, Hello Kitty light, a pink door, a plain wide mirror, another mirror with Hello Kitty designs painted on it, a clock, and more stuffed toys placed on the upper side. The bed here is a bit smaller than the other one but it can still accommodate two persons.

It has a 5 ft. cabinet where you can put your things and there are three stuffed toys on the top of it. Beside the cabinet is a mini chair where another big Hello Kitty is sitting on it. If you open the cabinet, they provided three Hello Kitty hangers. My favorite part of this room is the vanity mirror and if you open it, you will see a hair dryer and hair curler/iron. And yes, you are allowed to use it anytime you want.

My birthday is July 19 and Jessica's birthday is July 9, we decided to celebrate our birthday in this Hello Kitty Condo last July 14-15. It is indeed a memorable day for both of us.

10 am to 6 pm - 1,000 PHP or 20 dollars (8 hrs day tour)
8 pm to 8 am - 1,500 PHP or 30 dollars (12 hrs overnight)
24 hours - 2,500 PHP or 50 dollars
Good for 1 to 3 persons, add 200 PHP (4 dollars) if 4 persons.

Two Bedroom Unit

10 am to 6 pm - 1,500 PHP or 30 dollars (8 hrs day tour)
8 pm to 8 am - 2,000 PHP or 40 dollars (12 hrs overnight)
24 hours - 3,000 PHP or 60 dollars
Good for 1 to 4 persons, add 200 PHP (4 dollars) each in excess of 4 persons not more than 7 persons.
