#ULOG No. 19 Keeping My Sundowners’ Experience Fresh
What you see is not the Santorini of Greece, But the Sundowners in Bolinao Pangasinan... Yes, there is a place in Pangasinan where you can find Santorini-inspired establishments without the hassle of getting on a plane!

Hi guys. Pardon me if your favorite celebrity is cannot be reach recently haha. Just my assumption. I never thought that it would be a busy week for me. A couple of days I’ve been ulogless, steemless and even partly missed the 12th Steemgigs Discord Talk Show (I visited many times just to hear what’s going on. Good thing there are recordings shared by my friends). And after my vacation, I immediately got back to my normal life, I also got busy returning to my regular occupation. However, it’s never too late to share and let you all know how much we enjoyed our stay at Sundowners. It’s been 4 days after the jaunt.
As I’ve said on my previous article, my whole family (almost), together with the happy family of my sister in law ate Kith went to Sundowners which is located in the town of Bolinao, still part of our province Pangasinan. Bolinao is famous for its caves, beach, waterfalls, (where @sn0white did her highest dive hehe) and of course the lighthouse.
Back to our destination, Sundowners is approximately 2 hours drive from our town. If you’re coming from Manila, I think it’s 5 hours away. But I’m telling you, the long hours of travel is very much worth it. Especially when you’ll finally see the magnificent views of the sea, the nearby islands, the whitewashed villas, and of course the sunset. That’s why the place is named “Sundowners” because of the beauty it can offer, to witness the golden light of sun as it slowly disappears below the horizon. Well, unfortunately we didn’t have the chance to see it because of the rainy weather. But it’s alright. The purpose why we went there in the first place is to be with the family. Which is a rare to happen.
We’re almost complete. My two brothers and their families were not able join us. They’re on the other side of the world
The check-in time is 1 pm and we arrived there just on time.
We wanted to rent a whole villa in the Sundowners Vacation Villas, which is more beautiful and exclusive, but it’s fully booked when we inquired. This place really caught the interest of many tourists. But time is limited so we rented a condominium style duplex unit and an additional room for all of us in the Sundowners Marina instead. Still, it’s stunning. It is located much closer to the beach.
When I entered, I immediately roamed around to check every corner.
It has 3 air-conditioned bedrooms with private bathrooms. But there are 17 heads. It’s hard to squeeze more than 3 people in one bed so some found their place in the Moroccan- style living room and other sofa to spend the night.
The kitchen and dining area also have AC and it’s fully equipped, where you can cook. We should have known earlier because we also packed our kitchenwares.
So why asked for expensive food service when we can cook our own food, from breakfast to dinner.
I cooked this one. I’ll share the recipes to you later 😊
One of my favorite spot are the wide balconies where you can relax, have fresh air and nice view of the nature. You can also enjoy your meal here while watching the happenings in a mini quay where boats receive and discharge cargo and passengers from and to certain parts of Bolinao.
And lastly, is this.
Summer is far over, but not for me. It’s my first swim this year due to my surgery. I didn’t enjoy the warm season. A month has passed, so I guessed my wound was not fresh anymore and fully closed that time haha. My stubbornness strikes. It’s an annual opportunity so I still did. It’s already late at night when I dipped into the small infinity pool. I’m not a swimmer, so stayed on the shallow area about 4ft haha. Same as in the morning.
The pool also has a mini bar. Every night, there’s a live band.
The room is cozy and the bed is comfy. I told myself to wake up late. But as the dawn broke over the place, I sprang out of bed with a jolt because I want to see the sunrise as well. It’s not perfect because the clouds are covering mr. sun. Yet, it’s beautiful.
Me trying the Titanic pose haha
Check-out time is 11 am. So, we packed up our things prematurely to avoid additional charge.
It’s a time bounded trip, just a day. But, overall, it’s one of kind experience especially with your family. I feel like I want to live there forever. Every corner is instagrammable, steemitable and uloggable rather. They’re right. It’s like a home away from home.
Guys, if you’re in the Philippines and looking for a European getaway, I recommend this place for you to try and guarantee that you’ll never regret it.
This is my longest ulog so far.
