The Diary Game [08/07/2025] // A Rainy Day at Home
Steem greetings, everyone, from the motherland of Cameroon, and welcome to another session of my diary game. It has been a busy week for me with lots of work to catch up with the deadline, which has kept me on my feet, but I thank God that I conquered victoriously and all is well. After concluding with the reports and the data analysis from field focus group discussions and oral interviews, I decided to take off today and stay at home to get proper rest.
I woke up from bed late because I knew I had no major task for the day, and since it is summer holidays in my country, my kids overslept during the day and went to bed late. They will get up from the sheet late. I still had to prepare breakfast for them while they were still sleeping. By the time I was done frying some plantain chips with an omelette, my kids were awake, and I did the needful and fed them to eat to their satisfaction.
After taking breakfast, I had to relax while watching a Netflix movie for a while, and it was raining cats and dogs. We experienced an unexpected blackout, although it did not last long, and electricity was restored. I had to go to the farm near the house to harvest corn to boil. This is the season, and at every junction, you can find a roadside vendor either roasting or boiling corn and selling it. I boiled only the quantity we could eat, and the corn was so sweet.

I enjoyed the corn, and it's been a while since we've eaten fresh, boiled corn. We discussed while eating the corn and went out to help a neighbour tie her water leaf to be sold in the local market tomorrow. I had to pick out the flowers from the waterleaf and arrange them into bundles, and she tied them together and arranged them on the floor. This was to avoid the waterleaf being damaged overnight due to overheating.
After helping my neighbour, I returned home and was ready to follow the FIFA Club World Cup match between Chelsea and Fluminense. Though I was not in support of any of the teams, I was cheering for any player or team that played entertaining football. The game started with both teams performing well until Chelsea opened the score with 1:0. Hopes were still high for the Fluminense team as they put in their all to equalise to no avail. They ended up conceding 2 goals in favour of Chelsea. Chelsea now awaits either Real Madrid or PSG based on the outcome of their game tomorrow.

After the game, I had to prepare a cup of hot tea for myself to keep my body warm. I noticed we experience extreme cold weather lately, especially at night and in fall, a cup of tea was a perfect way to end the day while keeping the brain fresh to face the challenges of another day. Guys, until my next diary, I wish all my friends a blissful day at your job sites as the week just started.
Your daily activities, were so easy going, waking up early and prepared breakfast for the kids, mostly keeping to time as they wake up met with the breakfast and feeding them to satisfaction is a jou to every kid.
The yellow Corn 🌽 is so unique but it is not commonly found here in my motherland Nigeria, mostly in my geopolitical zone South South region, precisely Akwa Ibom State.
But it is the season as you said.
But I really admire the way you prepare it and watching movie is a kind of body system relaxation,the funy thing is the electricity blackout,but yours is different they restored it soon, but here in my place it can take 4 days, some due to location where poor people are living but in housing Estates they are using prepaid meter, whereas we are using estimated bill.
So you really have a nice and a minor tasks for the day.

My daily activities were not just easy going as narrated but rather a resting day that turn to e still occupied with house chores. Just the sweet corn that i ate made me so happy that day that i went to bed satisfied. Thank you for reaching out and supporting me.

Raining season challenge many actives i respective of your time its natural but, it affect many things including life , it's a season we should planned before fixing any activities, yesterday i had a delayed for my woerk because of rain it started in the morning whwn.i supposed to go work i had no options than to wait it's a season everyone should plan well .
