Explanation

---

Today, I am going to share a bird drawing with you. The name of this bird is Western Tanager. So, let's see how I completed this drawing.

◾ Step I

First, I gathered all the necessary materials. Then, using a pencil, I started by outlining the bird’s beak, eyes, head, and legs on a blank sheet of paper. After that, I drew the back part of the bird, including its tail and body.

◾ Step II

Next, I designed the details inside the bird’s eyes and then worked on the patterns of its wings. After that, I carefully drew the bird’s talons. To make it look like the bird is sitting on a branch, I added a tree branch beneath its feet. Now, it appears as if the bird is perched on a tree branch.

◾ Step III

Complete my drawing

My drawing is now complete. Now, I will begin coloring.

◾ Step IV

Start to color

First, I colored the bird’s eye black while keeping a small part white for the highlight. Then, I used a combination of brown and yellow for its beak. I colored both legs in brown and extended the same color slightly upward. For the tree branch, I used a mix of brown and black to give it a natural look.

◾ Step V

	Using Red & Yellow

Now, I applied red color to the bird’s head. Gradually, I blended yellow and orange shades downwards. I added a small amount of yellow to the upper part of the tail and used a hint of red in the middle part of the body.

◾ Step VI

	Complete the color

For the tail, I used black color. I also applied black to the wings, mainly in the middle section of the body. My coloring is now complete.

◾ Step VII

	Using Tag

Now, I captured a picture of the bird using a tag. Then, as proof, I also took a selfie with my drawing.
