True Colours 5 (Team #6) | May 2025 Curation Report - Week 1

1. Preface:

True Colours rewards "creative comments, it doesn't vote on just any comment, but those that contribute to the content and the author.

This hallmark leads the team to spend long hours trying to locate the best and most engaging commenters on posts. The number of these comments is low, while AI-generated comments increase.
We hope this approach will be replicated by other teams.

The culture of reading and commenting is not a "fad", but a commitment for all users, especially those who want to make a living on the platform. Do you spend time reading and commenting on other users' posts? Do you vote on comments with the same weight as the posts themselves?
We believe that when we all begin to embrace this work philosophy as curators, we will help the platform take a positive turn.

The last time the team curated was February 2025. The team covers 3 continents : Asia (@aneukpineung78, Indonesia), South America (@solperez, Venezuela), and Europe (@wakeupkitty, The Netherlands).

This is the statistical report on the implementation of the first week of May 2025 curatorial activities by Team True Colours 5.

A website, https://truecolours5.netlify.app/, has been built, which provides a brief summary information on the True Colours 5 curatorial work (updated through time).

2. The Statistics

@marcybetancourt is an avid reader and commentator like few others on the platform: She's not content with simply uttering diplomatic phrases like, "Very nice," "Excellent," or "Well done." No. She comments, contributing valuable insights and telling stories based on the story she's read, as in this case, where she takes the time to tell us how a couple who complemented each other perfectly in love couldn't complete their romance because the man had his wife and refused to leave her after so many years of marriage.

@soulsdetour shows her new gadget and takes the time to discuss the spy options of the phone and continues to discuss and engage with steemcurator08.
In a longer thread of comments she remarks "this is the reality and we have no way of not living this reality. I think that when the rules of the game are like this, we have to play this game, but being aware of them. From then on, everyone decides for themselves what they will do with this awareness. Radical rebellion cannot lead to anything. Maybe to self-destruction or madness, but not to liberation"

kafio commented on this article which discusses a web game, where he as a professional programmer shows the weaknesses of the site, in terms of the security of the code used and how to save the file size of the code written, and has given suggestions regarding it. His comments are definitely helpful for beginners. This comment has entered past payout, but he has a comment still up underneath this one that was made a few days later and helped further with the topic.

Many things in the technical side of Steem are interesting to some people (especially related to Steem = programming development) but not so easy to get and in this comment remlaps as one of the developers who has been on Steem for a long time has given an explanation of the blockchain built in promotion mechanism whose existence may not even be realised by many people.

Sort:

92 comments versus 84 posts is not bad at all, I'd say, but this observation that AI-generated comments increase, is horrific. I hope something happens soon and people realize that it is not good to use this thing for anything, least of all to simulate human activity. This can also be said as a continuation of my comment and post. I'm reminded of a meme I saw recently - a guy standing on a cliff or something, looking into the distance through binoculars with the text: Looking for new conspiracy theories because all the ones I knew so far have become reality. So, be careful with this tool, that's what I can tell the people who use it.😎😁
Thanks for the curation and keep up the great work!

We had a high amount of AI generated comments as the SEC contests hosted by communities were still running. I doubt it saves time to copy-past text and ask AI to generate a summary of it. It only works if you don't want or can't read or the text is too difficult to understand.

Thank you for the nomination. It was very comforting to see me nominated. I was not expecting this. The report was very accurate. You are doing a great job as a team. I hope you continue to bring art closer to creators and promoters on this platform.

Best wishes.

Okay. Looks like there's a mess in the house and no one cleans. But it's okay, not that big a deal, right?
