True Colours 5 (Team #6) | May 2025 Curation Report - Week 3

1. Preface

After the "incident" in the commentary section of last week's report, regarding the nomination of the "enemy" we continued our work which is in line with one of Steem's fundamental ideals. Political issues should not affect the Steem environment and decide who to nominate.

Ventilations about nationalities and nations, as well as threats directed at the curators, put some other true colours in the spotlight.

The team curates based on merit: art, skills, creativity, originality, and appropriateness, not on matters related to politics, religion, race, nationality and over 50 wars fought. We are Steemians, regardless of our ID, and in the unity of Steemians, we should try to put out the fires of war instead of bringing them to Steem and burning down what we have been fighting for: a worldwide platform that values creativity, commenting and stands for growth and freedom.

This is the statistical report on the implementation of the third week of May 2025 curatorial activities by Team True Colours 5 (steemcurator08).

A website, https://truecolours5.netlify.app/, has been built, which provides a brief summary of information on the True Colours 5 curatorial work (updated through time).

2. The Statistics

This week, 41 posts and 135 comments were curated, made a total of 176. As always, the weekly report is made by taking into account various key aspects related to the implementation of these curatorial activities: in terms of Club, Country, Community, Continent, and Gender.

2.1. The Club Count

The following table and charts show the number of daily votes (post, comment, and total) by club.

@pousinha discusses the phenomenon "incel" where the attitude of ugly men is far from pleasant dealing with. These men blame society for not having a girlfriend/wife. "Originally, incel meant involuntary celibate, but with the time it has taken on negative connotations due to a fringe of users who populate the spaces dedicated to them who live by spitting venom against the society that they believe is guilty of having given too many rights to women (whom some of them call NP = NOT PEOPLE, which in itself says a lot). They demand that a woman sleep with them..."

Children are a mother's joy and the reason for travelling unimaginable distances. In this post, udyliciouz shares her activities with her two children and husband in an event called Carrier Day. She doesn't go into detail about Carrier Day, and this post has become more of a photography post. We can read her excitement in those photos.

As a response to the post titled International Child Helpline Day, Dissi shared her difficult childhood experiences and the trauma she had to go through. A touching comment because whether we realise it or not, children are still often victims of violence from others.

@danapalooza is a keen reader, capable of interpreting what isn't overtly expressed in the text, and of expressing her expectations about the possible twists and endings of the stories. This is a sample of what I mentioned above: The suggestion of a homicidal feeling remains underlying. I kept expecting to see blood spilled and not cranberry juice, but well... that's my role as a reader.

@tagmo introduces us to his beautiful cats and, based on his experiences, develops the premise that: Cats end up resembling their owners, when it comes to their behavior. His arguments are interesting. Therefore, I invite you to read this post.

@ariful2 is an enthusiastic Steemian sharing his life which always seems to be very busy. He has a huge love for animals and shows them with proud, including how he cares for them and the necessary of hygiene. This young men doesn't let his health issues stop him, never complains and is always optimistic. He could use financial support to remove the tumours visible.

@oneray discusses the problem with Steemit. It is the lack of comments, but also the attitude of some communities that make him feel unwelcome and accuse him of using AI if he tries to translate his words into the language of the community: "I once wanted to participate, and did participate, in a European community, creating content and translating it into the language of the community; in my first post, I felt proud and accepted, however, I was warned that if I kept writing "out there" I could be seen as someone desperately seeking votes or winning contests in a community to which I do not belong nor do I naturally speak the same language. The result was that I stopped writing in that community, although I do occasionally drop in and leave a comment on a post I liked."

Esta ha sido otra semana de buenas lecturas y aprendizajes. El compromiso es hacerlo cada día mejor.

Congratulations to the chosen posts, you all deserve your spot!

Yeah. We can nominate more (considering some aspects, primarily creativity, engagement, art), but each week each team has been given 7 spots and they have to make do with it. 7 nominations multiply by 7 teams, so, 47 nominations each week.

Lately, I’ve been reading other posts, trying to get an idea, hoping that by seeing how they do it, I’ll pick up some tips and figure out how to make my own posts better. 😊

Many thanks for mentioning my article in your valuable list. That's very kind of you. I really appreciate it. ;)
