#ulog 17 : A Local Fruit That Brought Back Memories

Can you guess what these are?

We have this local berries here in the Philippines we call Arusip or Isip. That's how we call them in my province but other regions have a different name for it. If you guys have another name just comment below.

These berries are usually sour but I was surprised to have tasted them today and they are unusually sweet. I didn't realize I already finished a big bunch while watching my favorite afternoon soap. I just kept nibbling really and enjoyed the humble fruit. It made me feel nostalgic all of a sudden. I remember back in elementary days this fruit is such a hit among the children. Your penny could buy you a big pouch enough to last your afternoon break. I posted a photo of me munching on my social media account. ..and one by one my friends came posting their comments. It was a funny and nostalgic feeling reading their fond memories of this lowly local fruit. Some says they prefer sprinkling some salt on them others say vinegar. I just love them as they are.

I enjoyed my time eating and reminiscing the old days. It's good I found this fruit being sold by the road side and didn't hesitate to buy. I know for sure memories will start to come back as I munch on the berries. I think they grow best during the rainy season, that is how I remember them by.
