THE DIARY GAME

Hello everyone,

Today was a very special day for me because today we celebrated International Nursing Day. Although this day is celebrated on May 12, but this time we celebrated a little late. A day that is dedicated to all the nurses all over the world who serve the patients without stopping day and night. As a nursing head, celebrating this day with my staff and admin team gives me a pride.

This morning my eyes opened quickly. Perhaps there was an enthusiasm in the heart about this special day. I got up early and prepared myself mentally with meditation and tea for a while. After the breakfast, I decided that today will not be just a normal workday, but we all will give it a memorable look.

When I reached the hospital, I brought a small surprise for all my nursing staff and nursing admin team. I gave each nurse a rose flower and a small gift. The smile on his face was the biggest achievement for me. I thanked them for their dedication, hard work and service to the patients. I also said that every patient of this institute is better than your touch, your service, and your care and you all deserve thanks.

Along with celebrating Nursing Day, I did not back down from my regular tasks. In the afternoon, I inspected different units of the hospital under the infection prevention as usual. I did a standard audit in which I also saw some important laps (shortcomings).

Some of these shortcomings were as follows:

Do not use PPE correctly.

Non -compliance of 5 motions of hand hygiene.

Disturbances in segregation of biomedical waste.

Opening of operation theater repeatedly

I immediately discussed with the concerned staff about all these points and Corrective and preventive action.

By the evening, there was a little tired day, but there was satisfaction in the heart that we lived this day in the true sense. I invited my entire nursing team and admin team to dinner in a good resort. It was not just a food event, but a chance to sit with each other, smile, and express gratitude for mutual cooperation.

We all had tasty food together. Some ordered South Indian and some have Punjabi. Along with laughter, we also shared our experiences. Everyone laughed at some old stories and once again felt that we are not just a colleague, but a family.

This whole day made me realize how important and valuable the life of a nurse is. Our role in society is not only professional but also emotional. We not only fix the body, but also handle the mind and soul of a human being.

Today will be an inspiration for me. A day of loyalty to your profession and respect for your comrades. In this way, we should celebrate Nursing Day every year, but live every day like Nursing Day. With service, compassion and dedication.
