Dinajpur shishu park

Assalamu Alaikum,
Sports are very important for the mental and physical development of children. In the busy concrete life of the city, children can spend time in sports and greenery, for which Shishu Park is one of the places. It was established in 1980, adjacent to the main square in Dinajpur. Initially, it was called Dinajpur Municipality Shishu Park, but now it is known as Dinajpur Shishu Park. The park has some rides for children, including swings and a skating field, along with a gym. Let me describe Dinajpur Shishu Park in my own way.

Main entrance gate to the park

There are two gates to enter Dinajpur Shishu Park, but neither of them allows vehicles inside. Only people can enter the park. The current main entrance is being widened and rebuilt. The other gate is towards the Dinajpur Fairgrounds.

Some rides for children

There are walking paths around the park for walking inside the field. At the same time, there are some rides and swings for children in the field where children play. The park is usually crowded in the morning and afternoon. In the morning, many people come here to exercise. In the afternoon, families with children come.

Broken lotus-shaped water fountain

Many things in the park are now abandoned and need urgent renovation. There is a lotus-shaped water fountain in the park that is almost breaking due to lack of maintenance. There is no water fountain here anymore. The drainage system of the field is not good. However, work has already started from the administration to develop the park.

Something new is being added to the park that will attract children and at the same time increase the value of the park. Benches have been made around the park for the general public to sit in tin canopies.

Skating rink

A skating ground was built in the park in 2014 where children are taught to skate. Skating takes place here in the afternoons on Fridays and Saturdays, which are public holidays. To learn to skate, you have to join the skating club and pay a monthly fee.

Children's physical education center

Inside the park is the Dinajpur Children's Playground and Physical Education Center, which is for young people of all ages. This physical education center is open in the afternoon, but most of the equipment here is broken.

Local people come to exercise in the park in the morning. Local people have created a good morning exercise center here. This exercise center is open to everyone, but I learned that most of the members here are retired officers. They exercise here regularly for their physical well-being under the guidance of a retired army officer.

There are some abandoned umbrella-type structures in the field that were once used to sit and spend time. Many trees are now being planted in the park, as a result of which there are fruit trees that are food for birds.

The park has a pond, but this pond never has water except during the rainy season. Many people also know it as a dry pond. You can see it if you zoom in on Google Maps. Shishupark is not just a play area, it is a place of education, a center of joy, and a place suitable for developing a healthy childhood.
